Below Deck Season 12 Episode 13 Recap

Welcome back! This week on Below Deck Season 12 Episode 13, Kyle is reeling from his outburst with Fraser last week. Meanwhile, the interior department is back at odds, despite Solène previously picking up her pace. In contrast, Jess is now starting to waver, both emotionally and professionally. Here is everything that happened in Below Deck Season 12 Episode 13, “Talk Derby to Me.”

What happened in Below Deck Season 12 Episode 13?

Kyle screwed up. But Fraser is not dwelling on his outburst. Instead, Fraser has to help Solène progress because Rainbeau has had it up to here with her lesser work ethic. Meanwhile, Jess is also slipping past the point of no return with her current lack of focus. Can Solène and Jess right their wrongs in time to avoid a firing?

Kyle apologizes to Fraser. Fraser accepts, but in his confessional, he says that he will no longer put his “neck on the line” for Kyle.

Rainbeau and Damo make out. “Game on, baby,” Damo says. Rainbeau, however, compares his kissing style to a wet fish.

Solène complains about Jess. Fraser calls her out, reminding her she is also guilty of leading people on. “We are talking about Jess,” Solène laughs.

Rainbeau sleeps in the crew mess as a drunken Damo searches for her in his cabin. Meanwhile, Jess and Bárbara enjoy a private bunk while Kyle and Solène reconnect in a guest cabin. In the morning, Kyle calls home. He is not happy with his behavior, he admits.

Unlike Kyle, Captain Kerry feels thrilled. The part his yacht needs has just arrived. Hopefully, it works and saves this season from a permanent docking.

“Back to work,” Rainbeau singsongs. Solène ignores her. Sighing, Rainbeau finds Fraser to see if Solène has an early break. “No,” Fraser answers.

Fraser reminds Solène that this is not her break time. Solène finishes eating and gets back to work. When her break arrives, she radios for Jess to meet her at the bar.

Solène calls Jess “a coward.” Jess agrees and apologizes. But Solène does not find it sincere.

Thankfully, the St. David is now “good to go,” and the next charter group is almost here. However, they will be docking in Saint Barthélemy, which is stressful, Captain Kerry confesses. Meanwhile, this charter needs to be successful, as one of the guests, Emily, just finished chemo and will soon undergo a mastectomy.

Cancer has taken two loved ones from Jess. So, she wants to give this group her all.

The guests arrive. They sail through the bridge and anchor in the sea. Captain Kerry radios Jess. Jess takes her time answering, so he calls her into the wheelhouse.

Captain Kerry reminds Jess to communicate. She understands and heads down to help with the water toys. When Damo does not respond to her statement, she curses and walks away, leaving everyone confused. Hugo pulls her aside, noting in his confessional that her mind is distracted by Solène and Bárbara.

Fraser asks Solène to “do the dayheads” and bins while he takes a break. As soon as he leaves, Kyle shoots her a text, asking her to join him on the bow for a smoke break. While cleaning, Rainbeau spots them relaxing and calls for Fraser on her radio.

Solène and Kyle hear her call. “I’m dead,” Solène laughs. Fraser redirects Solène, stating that on any other boat, Solène would have gotten fired, “day one.”

Jess breaks down

Solène heads to the bar to polish glasses. Kyle heads downstairs, laughing with Hugo about how mad Rainbeau is turning. Meanwhile, the guests are off snorkeling, but are now heading back to the yacht.

Back on board, Emily loses her hat to the wind. She sees this as a “sayonara trip” sign, since she is soon “losing her tits.” Emily stands on the railing, feeling the wind rushing over her body, thankful for this moment in time.

As night dawns, Captain Kerry and Jess anchor the yacht. However, Jess messes up. Captain Kerry heads outside. “Double check everything,” he instructs.

Back inside, Jess cries. Having a group on board with a cancer survivor is “hitting home.” Captain Kerry hugs Jess and sends her on a break. Her mental health is his top priority, he says. In her cabin, Jess lies on the ground and sobs.

The crew sets up a derby-themed dinner party. Solène and Kyle flirt as Anthony grows emotional in his confessional. His father passed away following a heart attack. His death was quick, so he did not suffer, Anthony explains.

“With cancer, it’s a hard fight. It’s a battle,” he says. Therefore, Anthony wants to make sure that everything he prepares resembles “a celebration of life” for Emily.

In passing, Hugo comments that Rainbeau hates Solène. Rainbeau claims otherwise, asking Hugo to “stay in” his lane. “F*cking hell. You are a f*cking joke,” Hugo quips.

In his interview, Hugo comments that Rainbeau lied, and he is tired of the jealousy and cattiness between her and Solène. Um. Cattiness, yes. Jealousy, no. Rainbeau is just exhausted and needs help, Hugo.

In his interview, Fraser slams Hugo for doing everything he just accused Rainbeau of. Several beats later, Solène hurts herself. “Do you ever think when you hurt yourself, it’s just Karma?” asks Rainbeau.

“Rainbeau is like, beast of vagina bush,” Solène declares. After giving Solène her orders for the night, flashbacks air, reminding viewers why Rainbeau is so frustrated. Rainbeau breathes, talking herself down from using her fists as a communication device.

Below Deck continues Mondays at 8/7c on Bravo. It streams on Hayu in the UK and Ireland.
