Charlie Sheen has had his fair share of time in the limelight, from his glory days to his not-so-glorious days. His upcoming Netflix documentary is showing it all, the good, the bad, and the ugly. Plus all the people that were a part of his story. The trailer for Charlie’s documentary features many key parts of his past including his ex-wife, reality star Denise Richards and their youngest daughter.
Fans have heard a lot about Charlie from Denise over the years. Even now, as Denise goes through another messy divorce, fans speculate whether reconciliation is possible for the former married couple. After all, the former Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star was a huge piece of Charlie’s life and the documentary proves it.
Charlie Sheen and Denise Richards’ daughter Lola also appears in the Netflix trailer
The trailer starts off with Charlie sitting in what appears to be a corner booth at a diner.
“Shame is suffocating,” he says as he looks back on his life. “I lit the fuse, and my life turned into everything it wasn’t supposed to be.”
He adds, “There’s only one person alive who has the answers to so many people’s questions about me. And that’s…”
It cuts off and shows a montage of people who played a big part in Charlie’s life, including Denise, Sean Penn, Jon Cryer, Chris Tucker, Brooke Mueller, Chuck Lorre, and his brother Emilio Estevez (credited as Ramon Estevez).
Another montage follows of Charlie’s successes. He recalls that everyone said he was “the guy” at the time. “Imagine what that did to my head?” he jokes.
The trailer then takes a dark turn from his successes to his eventual downfall. Sean notes that Charlie began experimenting with “everything.” Even his drug dealer shares that he was doing serious drugs.
“When it started to change,” Denise recalls. ‘It was quick.” She would know. She saw him through a lot of the hard times and did her best to protect their daughters from them. Charlie himself admits in the trailer that he really hurt the people he loves.
“You can’t really have a relationship with someone going through addiction,” his daughter, Lola Sheen, reveals. It’s only now that Charlie is sober that he is part of her life again. His older daughter, Sami, still has reservations about him.
It looks like nothing is off limits in Charlie’s documentary. The world is going to get to know exactly what happened to him in his own words and through the people who know him best.
aka Charlie Sheen premieres on Netflix on September 10.
