Disney settles Gina Carano’s lawsuit after firing her from ‘Mandalorian’ for comparing being conservative in US to being Jewish in Nazi Germany

Walt Disney has settled its lawsuit with martial artist-turned-actress Gina Carano, who sued the company for firing her after she compared being conservative in the US to being Jewish in Nazi Germany.

Carano filed the wrongful termination and sex discrimination suit against the entertainment conglomerate in 2024, three years after sharing the controversial social media posts while acting in the Disney+ “Star Wars”-linked streaming series “The Mandalorian.”

In the Elon Musk-backed suit, Carano argued that Disney and Lucasfilm, the company behind the “Star Wars” franchise, canned her for promoting conservative opinions that other male stars had previously shared without consequence.

A Lucasfilm spokesperson highlighted that Carano “was always well respected by her directors, co-stars, and staff, and she worked hard to perfect her craft while treating her colleagues with kindness and respect” in a statement released Thursday.

“With this lawsuit concluded, we look forward to identifying opportunities to work together with Ms. Carano in the near future,” the spokesperson said.

No additional details about the settlement were revealed.

It is unclear if Lucasfilm plans to reintroduce Carano’s axed character in “The Mandalorian” or another “Star Wars” series.

Carano celebrated the suit’s drawn-out conclusion, saying it was “the best outcome for all parties involved” while thanking Musk for his charity.

“I am humbled and grateful to God for His love and grace in this outcome,” Carano wrote on X.

In 2021, Carano shared a series of inflammatory posts claiming that America’s political climate had shifted to persecute those with unpopular opinions – like the Nazis attacking Jewish people leading up to and during World War II.

“Jews were beaten in the streets, not by Nazi soldiers but by their neighbors … even by children,” Carano wrote on Instagram.

“Because history is edited, most people today don’t realize that to get to the point where Nazi soldiers could easily round up thousands of Jews, the government first made their own neighbors hate them simply for being Jews. How is that any different from hating someone for their political views?” the rest of the post read.

Sleuths diving into her other social media accounts unearthed dozens of old posts promoting debunked conspiracy theories about the COVID pandemic and voter fraud during the 2020 presidential election.

“Democratic Government leaders now recommend we all wear blindfolds along with masks so we can’t see what’s really going on,” she wrote in another tweet.

Carano was swiftly axed from “The Mandalorian,” one of the “Star Wars” franchise’s first live-action television series on the shiny new Disney+ streaming service.

She appeared in seven episodes as Cara Dune, a mercenary and ally of Pedro Pascal’s Din Djarin throughout the first and second seasons.
