Every Movie Coming to Peacock in September 2025

With summer coming to a close and spooky season nearly upon us, Peacock has announced its exciting and extensive new lineup of movies heading to the streaming giant for September. Those hoping to get into the Halloween spirit a little early are in for a real treat, as the platform is adding quite a few horror staples to its catalog, including Psycho, The Birds, and Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark.

If horror isn’t your thing, then don’t you worry, as Peacock is also adding a bunch of more light-hearted hits like Shrek, Bad Boys, Miss Congeniality, and Ted (to name just a few). Here are the best films coming to Peacock in September 2025.

’21 Jump Street’

Streaming September 1

Channing Tatum and Jonah Hill became one of Hollywood’s most unexpected, hilarious duos when they headlined the buddy cop comedy 21 Jump Street. The adaptation of the ’80s TV show follows police officers Greg Jenko and Morton Schmidt as they are tasked with going undercover as high school students to try to contain the spread of a dangerous drug among the kids. The pair quickly realize that a lot has changed since their own high school days, and are forced to face their old teenage anxieties.

The effortless and endlessly amusing chemistry between Tatum and Hill helped 21 Jump Street become both a knockout with moviegoers and critics, as the flick grossed $201 million worldwide and spawned the massively successful sequel 22 Jump Street. Fans of the ’80s series were also thrilled when original stars Johnny Depp and Peter DeLuise reprised their respective roles for the comedy, with the partners helping save the day and going out in an epic blaze of glory that delighted both new and old audiences. 21 Jump Street is available for streaming on September 1.

‘Psycho’

Streaming September 1

Universally regarded as one of the greatest movies of all time and a touchstone in horror cinema, Alfred Hitchcock’s spine-tingling masterpiece Psycho famously features the talents of Anthony Perkins and Janet Leigh. The film takes place at the run-down Bates Motel, where on-the-run secretary Marion Crane seeks refuge during a rainstorm and meets its shy and strange proprietor, Norman Bates. The high-strung man harbors sinister secrets and a troubling relationship with his mother, all of which come to a head at the ramshackle motel.

Revered for its distinctive camerawork, ominous atmosphere, and legendary performances, Psycho is regarded as one of Hollywood’s earliest examples of the slasher genre. The iconic shower scene became one of the most instantly recognizable moments in all cinema history, and both Perkins and Leigh’s brilliant performances helped Psycho become a certified Hitchcock classic, which you can stream on September 1.

‘Shrek’

Touting an all-star ensemble cast led by Mike Myers, Cameron Diaz, and Eddie Murphy, the fan-favorite animated comedy Shrek tells the tale of the titular grouchy and anti-social ogre who finds his solitude in his beloved swamp threatened by the unwanted arrival of banished fairy tale creatures. To regain control of his land, Shrek makes a deal with the narcissistic Lord Farquaad and sets off with the fast-talking Donkey to rescue Princess Fiona, who possesses a deep, dark secret.

Based on the William Steig picture book, Shrek originally featured Saturday Night Live staple Chris Farley as the lead character, and the comedian had even recorded most of his dialogue before he tragically passed away in 1997. Fellow SNL alum Myers eventually took over the role and gave him his iconic Scottish accent, with the funnyman hilariously playing off of both Murphy and Diaz and helping pave the way for the comedy’s unprecedented success. A lucrative franchise was spawned that resulted in three sequels and two spin-offs, with Shrek 5 scheduled to debut in 2027. Stream Shrek on September 1.

‘Miss Congeniality’

Streaming September 1

Sandra Bullock further established herself as America’s sweetheart when she starred in the action comedy Miss Congeniality. The Academy Award-winner appears as tomboy FBI agent Gracie Hart, who is assigned to go undercover as a contestant in the Miss United States pageant when a terrorist threatens to bomb the competition. With the help of her beauty pageant coach Victor Melling (Michael Caine) and her wise-cracking partner Eric Matthews (Benjamin Bratt), Gracie sets out to not only prove herself but also save her fellow contestants.

Despite garnering a mixed response from critics, fans couldn’t get enough of Bullock in the comedy, as her character, Gracie, hilariously undergoes an epic transformation both inside and out. The actress ended up nabbing a Golden Globe nomination for her spirited performance in Miss Congeniality, which dominated the box office and raked in over $212 million. With the additional appearances of stars like Candice Bergen and William Shatner, the 2000s knockout is more than worth a revisit and is available for streaming on September 1.

‘Abigail’

Streaming September 19

Those seeking a touch of humor with their horror need look no further than Abigail. The film centers on a group of motley criminals who are hired to kidnap a young ballerina (Alisha Weir) who is the daughter of a powerful and wealthy underworld boss. When they take Abigail to the secluded Wilhelm Manor to be held for a $50 million ransom, they make the terrifying realization that they are not locked inside with a normal little girl, but rather a bloodsucking vampire.

Dan Stevens, Melissa Barrera, and Giancarlo Esposito are among the stars of the dark comedy, which kept audiences riveted with its devilishly clever spin on vampire tropes. The result is an original film full of thrills, chills, and sharp humor. Empire Magazine declared in their Abigail review: “Tossing a malicious vampire kid among squabbling, not-exactly-un-dangerous humans is a recipe for a wickedly enjoyable thrill ride. One of the messiest vampire movies ever made, and winningly so.” Abigail is streaming on September 19.
