We all remember the day that Tamra Judge dramatically said she was “quitting’ Real Housewives of Orange County. It’s getting ready to play out in next week’s episode, and Gina Kirschenheiter said it felt pretty real to witness. She thought there was a chance that Tamra was gone for good.
Did Tamra Judge quit The Real Housewives of Orange County?
Although Tamra claimed she was leaving RHOC in the middle of Season 19, she quickly regrouped and got back to work. She credited her bounce back to her pal Teddi Mellencamp, who encouraged her to return to the ring. Meanwhile, Gina said she felt “surprised” watching it all play out. She opened up to Us Weekly about the dramatic outburst.
“I was kind of surprised that she just released it out to the world like that because it seemed very definitive, which I didn’t think she would do,” Gina said. “But also, Tamra really was having a rough year. I’ve never seen her like this before. I just kept saying, ‘Tamra’s being weird, Tamra’s being weird.’”
Ultimately, Gina knew that Tamra was struggling to process Teddi’s cancer diagnosis. She felt some empathy for Tamra, which is something we don’t see often on Bravo.
“Obviously with Teddi, that’s heartbreaking,” Gina continued. “And that’s the closest person to her. I think it was very difficult for her to navigate through that. And then she really did, for the first time, start going to real therapy.”
Although some people question whether or not therapy can help Tamra change her ways, Gina said she has hope for her RHOC castmate. She knows change can take time.
“It’s not like you go to a therapist, you sit on the couch and then you’re fixed. They crack the door open, and it gets way worse for a while because you’re just now looking at things you don’t want to look at. You don’t want to admit it. I think it’s a little bit unfair.”
