Season 19 of The Real Housewives of Orange County has been the gift that keeps on giving. The drama is next level, with Tamra Judge and Katie Ginella sitting pretty in the center of the chaos. However, RHOC fans know that no one can stir the pot like Tamra.
This season, Tamra is still feuding with Jennifer Pedranti. Plus, her longtime enemy, Gretchen Rossi, returned to the franchise after a 12-year hiatus. However, the sworn enemies continued to squabble off-screen during Gretchen’s absence. Meanwhile, Tamra’s relationship with Shannon Beador was on thin ice after a tumultuous Season 18.
Many RHOC viewers think that Tamra is the villain of the franchise. When she hurts someone or does something inappropriate, she doesn’t take ownership of her bad behavior. Tamra’s refusal to accept accountability is why she keeps landing in the bushes with viewers. However, with a few changes, I think our veteran orange holder could win back some fans. So, how can Tamra turn viewers around?
Tamra Judge’s life as a mom should be more central
Tamra Judge is the mom of four children. She shares three children with her ex-husband, Simon Barney. Plus, Tamra also has a son, Ryan Vieth, from a previous relationship. RHOC viewers watched Tamra and Simon’s marriage fall apart, resulting in a messy and nasty divorce.
Tamra was estranged from her eldest daughter, Sidney Barney, for a long time because of the divorce. However, the duo recently took steps to repair their relationship. In fact, Tamra shared that Sidney came to visit her at her home. “It’s not like she hates me; it’s not that situation,” Tamra explained. “We’re just not super close.”
Meanwhile, Tamra and Simon’s son Spencer Barney is a graduate of Cal State Fullerton. However, he tends to stay behind the scenes, so viewers haven’t seen him hanging out on RHOC. During Season 18, Tamra’s youngest child with Simon, Sophia Barney, returned to the show. Simon would not allow Sophia to film, so she had to wait until she became a legal adult.
Watching Sophia and Tamra in Season 19 has been interesting. Seeing how supportive Tamra is of Sophia’s musical talent has been wonderful. I think that Tamra is a good mom who loves all her children, is proud of them, and wants the best for them. This is the side of Tamra that RHOC viewers need to see more of in the future.
Tamra’s RHOC connection with Jenn needs resetting
Once upon a time, Jenn and Tamra were friends. However, they fell out because Tamra didn’t trust Jenn’s boyfriend-turned-fiancé, Ryan Boyajian. It turns out, Tamra believed that he wasn’t exactly faithful to Jenn.
During Season 18, Tamra even started a rumor that Ryan was allegedly “raided by the FBI.” As you may recall, Ryan was linked to an illegal gambling scheme, which allegedly involved his friend. Now, Ryan reportedly has immunity in the case, but Tamra’s remarks didn’t fade from the couple’s memory. Thankfully, Ryan didn’t slap Tamra with a lawsuit. According to Tamra, she made those comments because she was upset with Ryan about the negative remarks that he made about her husband, Eddie Judge.
However, during Season 19, Tamra showed Heather Dubrow photos of Jenn when she was heavier. Of course, when Jenn found out, she was livid. Plus, Tamra accused Jenn of wanting to be exactly like her and claimed that she was “obsessed” with her. I don’t want to think about Jenn putting in Tamra’s used hair extensions – even as a joke. Yikes!
This feud needs to end. Tamra is acting out of bounds, but her quarrel with Jenn could be fixed. Will Ryan and Jenn join Tamra and her hubby, Eddie, for double dates? Nope. However, by ending this argument with Jenn, Tamra could own her behavior and show herself in a more favorable light.
Above all else, Tamra needs to take accountability on The Real Housewives of Orange County
Tamra is her own worst enemy because she won’t take responsibility for her bad behavior. While her actions can be manipulative and used to inspire drama, her inability to accept her mistakes is a huge issue. Viewers need Tamra to own it and not just apologize.
Her RHOC co-stars don’t usually believe that her apologies are sincere. Although Tamra tearfully hugged it out with Shannon at the Season 18 reunion, Shannon doesn’t believe that Tamra has changed.
During this season, Tamra has been raw and vulnerable in her televised therapy sessions, unraveling the trauma and pain from her past. I give her credit for working on herself and filming it for RHOC. Hopefully, Tamra will get to a place where she can take accountability for her actions and mend some of her relationships.
I think that Gretchen and Tamra will reconcile when hell begins selling snowcones. However, there is a chance that Tamra could slowly earn back Shannon’s trust. The twosome has made up in the past.
As for Tamra’s friendship with Jenn? There is the complication of Tamra’s feud with Ryan, but she could still move forward with the bride-to-be. It would take time, but Tamra could begin to heal these fractured friendships. And show RHOC viewers that she can still stir the pot while owning her actions.
