Janelle Pierzina says S27 Players Are ‘Scared’ to Make Moves

Ahead of the Big Brother 27 premiere, former houseguest and Big Brother legend Janelle Pierzina tipped off fans on X as to who the “mystery houseguest” may be.

“Dude, I’ve called Rachel [Reilly’s] phone 10 times to chat about our next BB Cruise and it goes right to voicemail,” she wrote in a July 5 tweet.

Her post caught the attention of fans, and Rachel became the leading theory among the BB community. Come premiere night, Janelle’s intuition proved to be correct. Rachel sauntered down the stairs in the July 10 episode, informing the houseguests she would be competing against them for the grand prize. Janelle may not be playing alongside her friend this summer, but she’s keeping up with the game. Stars, they’re just like this.

Realitytea got the chance to chat with Janelle about Rachel, BB27, and her partnership with GamblingSites.com.

Here’s what you need to know.

Exclusive Interview: Janelle Pierzina shares her thoughts on Rachel Reilly’s game

Janelle’s experience with reality competition shows has trained her well in the art of sleuthing. When Big Brother production released clues about the identity of the mystery player, Janelle went into detective mode, and her investigation led her to Rachel Reilly.

“I thought she could be on the show,” she told us. “So, I called her six times, and it went to voicemail. So, there was no question. She’s on the show.”

The Season 6 star, who competed alongside Rachel on The Amazing Race and USA Network’s series Snake In the Grass, spoke highly of her friend’s game, describing it as “amazing.”

“I think this means so much to her,” she shared. “I know how badly she wanted to come back for the last All-Stars. She just wanted that so bad. So, this is great.”

Janelle reveals who she thinks is playing the best game on BB27

In our interview with Janelle, we asked who she thinks is playing the best and worst game on BB27. The Former Houseguest said her opinion is in constant flux, given how quickly the game changes.

“It changes so much week to week because [before Ava’s HOH], I was like, ‘Oh, Zach and Vinny, one of them is gonna take this,” she said.

“I think there is a world where Keanu can turn it around to get more people on his side,” she continued. “He’s one of those players who has something about him that is trustworthy. He is a good person. And I think people are starting to see that.”

She also praised Kelley, saying she loves seeing a strong competitor in the game.

“I love Kelley and her gameplay,” she said. “She’s so good under pressure.”

Janelle says “new-school” players are “scared”

Big Brother fans often categorize players as “new-school” or “old-school.” The first group refers to players cast beyond Season 15. Often, these players are subjected to criticism from fans who complain that the show has become boring due to the pressure of social media. I believe it is fair to say Big Brother has lost a bit of its edge. Over the years, fans have noticed that players appear a bit too aware of the cameras, which means less risky moves and fewer villains. We asked Janelle what she believes is the biggest divide between these two groups.

“[New-school players], they want to collaborative rather than clashing. It’s a generational thing,” she told us. “Whereas old-school, that divide is very much like we didn’t have any social media, so we don’t really care what you think. We’ll tell you to our face what we think. We don’t care about the repercussions, we [weren’t] trying to sell Triscuits on social media. [We were] just trying to win a game.”

She also noted that new-era players are “scared” to make big moves.

“It can be very boring if that happens,” she said.

Janelle reveals if she would play Big Brother again

Janelle has remained active in the reality competition sphere, competing on shows like The Traitors and The Amazing Race. While she’s open to new experiences, she told us she’s done with Big Brother.

“I don’t want to play Big Brother for a fifth time. I’m good on that. I’ve had a really nice time. I’ve spent so many days in that house,” she said.

However, she did reveal there is a possibility she would return down the line for a Blood vs. Water season.

“I would down for that,” she said. “It would really just me dying on the sword for my kid. I would do it for them.”
