Jill Dillard Shares Back To School Prep And Family Movie Night

Something interesting was revealed about the Dillard family preparations for the new school season through one of Jill’s recent Instagram posts. The mother of two shared that the family had just finished their school shopping and had spent the rest of a cozy evening enjoying a family movie. The post’s caption read, “Back to school shopping happened + we ended with a family movie night. Loving this crazy busy season of life with littles.”

Conversations were generated regarding the wholesome update, and many of the followers were suspicious about whether Jill’s boys, Israel and Samuel, would be attending public school this year or if they would be homeschooled. That debate more or less just took over the entire comment section, with some users convinced that the boys went to public school last year, while others believed they are once again being homeschooled. At one point, one commenter even brought up Jill’s connection to IBLP (Institute in Basic Life Principles), but was immediately shut down by another commenter clarifying that Jill and her husband, Derick Dillard, have long since disassociated themselves from that very controversial organization.

While the school debate carried on through most of the comments, others found more enjoyment in the fun little details shared in the post. One comment read, “Nothing like opening a brand new box of crayons.” Another nudged Jill, “Wow the kids get frozen pizza and you get something hot & fresh!?” From there followed a mini-thread where parents came to defend eating frozen pizza for dinner once in a while, with one claiming, “What kid doesn’t like pizza? Heck, I love pizza. It’s fine and also it’s not your worry.”

Others took to sharing their back-to-school experiences. One user, a retired teacher, talked about setting up her high school classroom like an elementary one and giving out stickers for good grades. Another mom shared a moving account of her son’s first day jitters; he cried and hyperventilated until the very last moment on the bus when he calmed himself down.

Then a few random-but-hilarious tangents sprang from the post, including multiple inquiries about whether Jill had ever seen Grease 2–an admittedly random-gone-wild reference that had many users grinning.

School came first, for sure. But the culinarily inclined commenters kept coming for Jill’s video transcripts. “Your curry looks yum, recipe please!” was one. Another chimed in, “Where did you get the veg curry from?”

Regardless of which side of the fence they stood on, the comment sections continued to be a cheering ground for support for Jill and wishing her family a wonderful school year. Homeschool or public school; it’s Jill really embracing the chaos of parenting in this busy season, frozen pizzas included.

Now, if nothing comes out of this, well, at least we know references to “Grease 2” are alive and kicking in the Instagram comment sections. Who would have thought?
