Kelis is the epitome of living the good life, and she just dropped the perfect post to get everyone packing for Tanzania. Unapologetically bold about her character and bolder in her career choices, she shared some footage of herself feeding giraffes in Africa, and trust me, the vibes cannot be put into words.

In this very chill video, Kelis goes on to deliver Giraffe 101, as if she was hosting her own nature documentary. “These here in Tanzania, America are mainly the best ones,” she says while drawing a curious comparison with the Rothschild giraffes of Kenya. Then there is also the marveling about the legs: “It’s so big, but they fold them in the camera.” Classic Kelis marvelling at the little (well, big) details.
The caption itself is a vibe: Fun facts about Maasai giraffes (18 feet tall, jagged-edge spots, just so you know) sprinkled with some hashtags–#africa, #wildlife, #beauty. Just Kelis vibing atop nature’s skyscrapers.
The comments? Jealousy, admiration, and total delight. One fan raved, “Mannn, we are so proud of you GIRL…I smile every time I see this,” while another called her “Honorary tourism minister of Kenya/Africa.” Spot on. Then another comments on how obtaining an American visa is so ironically difficult while Tanzania is almost Paradise.
Then the jokes started: one fan wished she could be feeding Kelis instead of giraffes, and others just couldn’t get over how casually she was stroking lions as though petting house cats. And of course, there was a birthday twin reminder for her-ahead of their big day coming up-so why not?
Kelis has always tracked after her own drumbeat (or in this case, giraffe footsteps), and this post is just another signal of her woman on going from surviving into thriving. Whether she’s making music, cooking, or kicking it with wildlife, she’s doing it with her own trademark.

So in case you needed that sign to go ahead and book that safari, this is it. And if that just isn’t possible for you? At least have Kelis doing it one giraffe selfie at a time.
