The details of this rumored affair arrived via Page Six. The outlet originally learned that Kelly’s former assistant was in a relationship with Brandon because of the details listed in his obituary. There, Kelly’s former assistant was described as Brandon’s “beautiful and loving partner in life and business.”
Brittney worked for Kelly as an assistant from 2018 to 2022. She also worked for Brandon as an executive assistant. This was all during the same time that Kelly and Brandon were having highly public marital issues.
Meanwhile, Brittney tied the knot in August 2021 to Greg LaPoint, the drummer of a band called Gypsy Nights. But, according to an insider, she had an ongoing affair with Brandon during the summer of 2023. Greg found out, and he immediately filed for divorce.
The pair finalized their divorce in February 2024, according to court documents. Two months later, Brittney was already living with Brandon in Montana. They were “working tirelessly” to build businesses together, per his obituary.
“[Greg] got screwed over due to [Brittney and Brandon’s] fling starting during his marriage,” Page Six’s source recalled.
For obvious reasons, Kelly was never thrilled about Brandon’s new romance. However, the insider said the two found a way to co-exist for the sake of the children. Plus, his lengthy cancer battle likely softened things for the singer and talk show host.
“Kelly knew that Brittney wasn’t going to be a problem with her and her kids, there was never a misunderstanding between them,” the source noted.
