Larsa Pippen was hitting back at those doubting her appearance changes of late. The Real Housewives of Miami star, in an off-the-cuff shot from the club’s dimly lit bathroom, went on to tell her fans, “just calm down” with all of the talk about swelling due to cosmetic procedures. Larsa in this dim video tried calming some of her viewers by saying the puffiness was going down: “You guys can just calm down.” But the internet just would not!

The video shows Larsa apparently in the same bar bathroom, massaging or running her fingers over her face while explaining the swelling situation. The low lighting could not stem the tidal waves of reactions on her altered looks. One user remarked, “Her belly button is like in her chest cavity.” Another one joked, “She took this video so far from the mirror and it still didn’t help.” The shade just kept coming, among which was “Dark light and far away. Girl you can’t play us. We saw what we saw.”
Actually, this isn’t the first time Larsa has been scrutinized for how she looks. The reality star at one time was somewhat very close to the Kardashian family and has been open about having had enhancements in the past. But this latest video seemed to have offered the window again for a round of chatter about how different she looks now than in the days when she crammed the television. One comment read, “Two people that baffle me that look totally different and it’s Larsa and Kylie Jenner. Kylie has slowly dissolved the filler.”
Some of those comments, however, turned a tad serious about the pressures that come with cosmetic surgery. Someone who advocated steering clear of heavy modifications interrupted: “Beauty is a beast that roars down on all fours demanding more.” The focus then returned to Larsa’s mannerisms in the clip, with one saying, “Why does she speak touching her breast and body? Not everything needs to be sexy.”
This time around, Larsa has not responded to the comments following her, but she is no stranger to public scrutiny about her looks. Earlier in the season, rumors about Larsa’s body had been broached, with Larsa stating to the cameras, “I work hard for this.” Yet the online reaction is proof that fans hardly ever do as they are told when a reality star tells them to “calm down” on plastic surgery guesses.

Interestingly, a couple of comments mentioned Larsa’s former friendship with the Kardashians; one wrote, “Even the Kardashians don’t f with her anymore and that is saying something.” The crack suggests a development in Larsa’s public perception from being known as Scottie’s ex-wife and friend of Kim sexy Kim to a polarizing force within her right on the Miami Housewives franchise.
Whether really swollen or not, it is painfully clear that under any guise of reality TV, any physical change becomes public discourse. And Larsa is learning the hard way that telling the internet to chill about your look is basically an invitation for them to dig in. The video was supposed to put an end to the rumors; instead, it gave them fresh fodder for discussion. At this point, the swelling is actually that of the reactions to Larsa’s newest look.
