Shiver me timbers! Pirates of the Caribbean devotees have unearthed a most desirable treasure, which sees the infamous Black Pearl and its ragtag crew return for another swashbuckling adventure, but not in the way people might have expected. A bevy of leaked images washed ashore and started circulating on social media, as fans of the multi-billion-dollar franchise laid their eyes on a new LEGO Icons set that features a brick-built version of Jack Sparrow’s iconic ship and a line-up of fan-favorite characters in minifigure form.
The photos, which surfaced online and were promptly shared on X/Twitter, offer a first glimpse of the notorious Black Pearl built out of LEGO bricks. The ship looks to be highly detailed and of an incredible scale, with large masts (each with black sails and various ropes and rigging, and one with a pirate’s flag attached), several cannons, and a curved stern to display the minifigure characters, paying homage to the Pirates of the Caribbean franchise.
Bricks Up, a reputable source for LEGO news, confirms that the Pirates of the Caribbean LEGO set includes nine minifigures in total. As pictured, these include Captain Jack Sparrow, Hector Barbossa, Elizabeth Swann, Will Turner, Anamaria, Joshamee Gibbs, Cotton, Marty, the Black Pearl’s sand green figurehead (which is positioned at the front of the ship). The large and impressive display model has 2,861 pieces and will be available to purchase from Sept. 12, but collectors will need to loot their piggy banks as the set is priced at $329.99.
Why Hasn’t ‘Pirates of the Caribbean 6’ Happened Yet?
