Freakier Friday, the long-awaited sequel to the 2003 hit Freaky Friday, is finally out, and it brings Lindsay Lohan back to one of her most iconic roles as Anna Coleman. Following Lindsay Lohan’s Netflix comeback movies, Freakier Friday finally gives the beloved star another chance to shine on the big screen.

She has had a long career in Hollywood after she started in the industry at a very young age. The best Lindsay Lohan movies saw the actor breakout as twins in The Parent Trap before moving into starring in one of the best comedies of the decade with her turn as Cady in Mean Girls.

Lindsay Lohan was born on July 6, 1986, and she was 16 years old when photography was captured on Freaky Friday between October and December of 2002. She was cast largely due to her success in The Parent Trap, beating out other contenders for the role, including Brie Larson and Emmy Rossum.

Lindsay Lohan Was 37-38 Years Old In Freakier Friday

Freakier Friday was filmed from June to August of 2024, meaning Lindsay Lohan was 37 at the start and 38 when production wrapped. Notably, this is a few years younger than Jamie Lee Curtis was, 44 years old, when she played the initial mother role in 2003’s Freaky Friday.

How Lindsay Lohan’s Age Compares To Anna’s

Anna is 15 years old in Freaky Friday, which is the same age Lohan was when she was cast. The actress had turned 16 by the time that cameras rolled, but the age range made sense for the star, and she was able to play both her angsty teenage self and her body-swapped mother with the perfect energy.

Freakier Friday tells a different story, but there are significant parallels. In the film, Anna has a 15-year-old daughter of her own in Harper, and their relationship is meant to mirror the one between Anna and Tess in the first film.

Anna is 37 years old in Freakier Friday, as it is set 22 years after the original, lining up with how much time passed between them in real life. Lohan was right around the same age as Anna during production of the first film, and that trend continues with the sequel.
