The original Big Apple ladies are back under the radar, and it would have been irresponsible of Miguel Luciano not to film each and every wonderfully chaotic moment. In the newest clip driving the franchise’s fans mad, one can find Luciano amidst NY Real Housewives trio Ramona Singer, Luann de Lesseps, and Kelly Bensimon. The caption read, “The girls are back in town! 🍎 📺,” unwinding the flood of nostalgia and speculation as to if the OG’s will ever return.

The show was a controlled chaos for most of the film. Luciano was in his element-the consummate mimic and hilarious actor amidst the interactions with the Housewives. The transcribed script calls for the almost stream-of-consciousness, fire-quick monologue spewed forth by Luciano encapsulating the absurdist-energy, high drama for which the original show was famous: jumping from one subject to another, calling someone “on the lower level… the basement,” while questioning if someone else had a “braid”-all this and the Housewives were struggling not to laugh, and they did not succeed. The show used “and you know what” almost like a punishing drumbeat in reference and homage to the original RHONY cast vocal cadence. It is sort of a love letter toward the show’s best-known and hilariously unintended quirks.
Immediate and over-the-top were the reactions, some lauding the video while others were fervently asking for more. “Give this guy an Emmy, a Tony, a SAG, an Oscar, and every other type of award. So talented and so funny!!,” one comment said. This sentiment was shared by the comment section at large, with many demanding serial treatment for one of Luciano’s parodies. The comments quickly turned into a rallying cry for the return of the OGs, neatly summed up by one fan stating, “Bring the OGs back already! 🍎”
Another very clever perspective was given in a very insightful comment that drew a brilliant analogy: “And you know what—is the And Just Like That replacement we didn’t know we needed 😂 those are some real New York broads who can show us a thing or two.” The comment hits on one of the key issues of fan frustration-that they feel that current revivals of classic shows simply do not have that rawness of unpolished charm theirs did, a claim that can certainly be leveled at the RHONY remake in particular. The comment points out the desire for the real deal that these ladies provide-how they do it and their humor in particular.
In the end, the video turned into an expression of appreciation for the cast members. Worth noting are the comments about Kelly Bensimon’s appearance, with one stating, “Kelly looks freaking amazinggggg 😍 wow.” Others remarked about LuAnn de Lesseps trying to keep it together, with an avid fan stating, “Luann trying not to lose it is the best part!” In the best possible way, after all these years, each Housewife remains a character in her own right and continues to intrigue an audience.
Of course, not everyone gave all love to the comments. The inclusion of that ever-divisive Kelly Bensimon prompted at least one scathing remark: “Ugh. Kelly Bensimon? Really? Why???” The oppositional discourse used here is the perfect microcosm for the entire Real Housewives viewing experience: for every cheerleader of the dramatic antics of any star cast, there is a hater who finds the same antics totally aggravating. In fact, that is exactly what has always been the point of the franchise.

The gushing commentaries really speak to an obvious conclusion: the roaring need to pull up their days to the small screen. Miguel Luciano truly did more than just dig a few moments worth of mirth; the whole trip was luxurious down memory lane. He reminded everyone why they actually fell in love with this very bunch of women in the first place-their straight-from-the-gut dialogues, their unmatched random tangents, and their singularly weird forms of camaraderie. From the video itself combined with the sparkling commentary, hence the loud cries from an actual audience for the original Real Housewives Of New York City for”””.
