She spent years putting it on and off the market before finally offloading it via auction. The home sold last year for $4.45 million, nearly half of its listing price.
A year later, we finally know the fate of the townhouse thanks to Page Six. Their extremely shady headline read, “Legendary boozer Sonja Morgan’s townhouse is now a sober living facility.”
Their source confirmed that a “luxe recovery facility” called Release Recovery is now using the townhouse to treat folks dealing with both substance abuse and mental health issues. That news came as a surprise to Sonja, who was told the buyer planned to live there with his wife.
A quick peek at Release Recovery’s Instagram shows them boasting about the home, which is being used as a women-only property. Their post will immediately bring back classic RHONY memories: the kitchen that had brown ice in the freezer, the garden that used to be loaded with dog poop, and the bedroom where Tinsley Mortimer once called home.
“Welcome to our new NYC Women’s house location! This stunning 5-story brownstone accommodates 11 women who are looking to transform their recovery journey,” the caption read.
Although Sonja didn’t know her house would become a sober-living facility, it sounds like she can recognize the irony in it. When Page Six told her about the news, they said she replied via text saying, “Hhhhaaaa!”
