Henderson, a personality known for empowering-edifying messages and critique of the workaday life, poignantly reminded followers this week of a simple truth. “Pour some of that same love, grace, and patience back into you,” she wrote, demanding panic with a sparkle emoji. Just as a reminder, read it again: “Pour some of that same love, grace, and patience back into you.”

Apart from the brief text, the post was plain in design. This very straightforward message became a great talking point for people who chatted at length about how they are learning to put themselves first. Henderson then asked, “What’s one way you’re choosing to love yourself this week?”
Within moments, the comments section was almost textbook for a self-care confessional, as users laid out their own journeys of seeking self-acceptance and living intentionally.
“I’m taking the time out to love myself by fasting from eating late at night. I complain about my weight all the time in security but yet and still I’m not doing anything about it so today it stops starting to love myself stop judging myself.”
Another respondent agreed with claiming personal time for little indulgences: “Taking myself out on a date like I use to do.” Another was more serious being, setting emotional boundaries: “Not allowing the audacity of others interrupt my flow.” Practical changes to lifestyles mingled with deeper emotional shifts-A witness to how differently each of us views self-love.
Yet, one follower replied back: “That’s why I love you with the love of GOD, sis, because you keep giving strength through words of encouragement. Watching you and Pastor Henderson’s marriage ministry gives me hope to keep trusting in the LORD and wait on the LORD.”
An unruly distraction came in the form of an unfortunate-and irrelative-comment about Kate Beckinsale: “How pathetic is Kate Beckinsale to say pathetic things to this wonderful woman.” This seemed to stun bystanders, who weren’t really able to comprehend where that came from.
The enormous amount of responses this post received exhibits that there are so many out there who are either seeking permission or being reminded to put themselves first. Henderson‘s was just such a reset button in this already very demanding world.
Perhaps the hashtag world does need an occasional detour (random Kate Beckinsale mentions, we’re looking at you), but the bulk of the conversation HB remained focused on what really matters: the ever-present, messy, yet unforgiving necessity of self-love.

This timely nudge was supported by Henderson herself, asking one to carve out space for themselves-eating lunch alone, setting those emotional boundaries, or finally talking through that one big issue you’ve just been avoiding. And trust me on this one-You’re very much not alone on having to hear that from the comments.
