The Valley Season 2 Episode 17 Recap: Reunion Part 2

Welcome to the recap for The Valley Season 2 Episode 16. The last episode was part one of the reunion, and it did not disappoint. Brittany didn’t hold anything back as she came for Jax. She called him every name under the sun. And even revealed she had Ring footage of him pushing her into a bush. This week on Part Two of the reunion, Jax gets emotional about his sobriety, but no one is taking the bait. So here’s exactly what happened in The Valley Season 2 Episode 17, “Reunion Part Two.”

The Valley reunion continues as Jax says he has been sober for 156 days. While Andy notes that it is commendable, he points out that there is still tension between him and most of his castmates. Brittany shares she has bought a pack of “100 drug tests and given them to him sporadically.” Petty as usual, Jax corrects, “Twice.” The former Jax’s Studio City owner pleads with Brittany to keep testing him as it holds him “accountable.” Jax admits, “I don’t want to touch drugs and alcohol again. It’s f*cked up my life.” According to Jax, he has a life coach and a sobriety coach, and is participating in AA, but Brittany isn’t buying it. Our Kentucky Muffin is leaving no stone unturned, making it clear she doesn’t trust Jax. He often claims he can be relied on, but then starts fights with her every other day. Honestly, that is no way to live.

And no matter how much Jax screws with B’s mind, she is aware they are toxic. Brittany then reveals that she has received multiple nasty DMs from girls associated with her soon-to-be ex-husband. Fans learn that Jax has been love bombing other women and telling these women that he wants them to move into his new bachelor pad with him. “The fact that these women come into my DMs and send me screenshots of the disgusting texts that you send them is horrible.” Brittany is emotionally spent.

Jax then tries to play the victim, stating he doesn’t know how to “handle this.” We assume he means the divorce. But more logically, he is probably referring to the demise of his spot on “his show.” In his head, Jax really always thought he was the number one guy in the group. It must suck to have to look into a mirror right now. Somewhere between the hollering, Jax admits he is just trying to hurt Brittany. Before another word can be uttered, Jason decides to step up for Jax, noting that if he has been using cocaine for the last twenty years, it will take a while for his anxiety and depression to stabilize. So what, you’re a lawyer and a doctor now?

Jax always loved himself

I will say Andy is getting a few jabs when he can. The host quickly noted that Brittany would probably be living an amazing life in Kentucky, married to a local doctor. In this instant, you can tell Jax is displeased, noting, “I don’t think I was ever her type. Ever.” Yet she stayed with him for ten years? Everyone knows that Brittany loved Jax. As he tried to win this battle, he legit copied Brittany’s argument, claiming he had also received DMs from her friends. Lest we forget, Jax approached her at the Las Vegas bar. He love-bombed her from day one. And now, finally, Brittany is standing up for herself. Thankfully, B had the last word as she revealed their therapist once said, “We can treat depression. We can treat bipolar. We can never treat narcissism.”

As for the rest of The Valley cast…

Janet is being called out, and frankly, it’s about time. A heavily pregnant Kristen notes that good Janet is nice and funny and smart, but the second Janet started filming, everything changed. Let’s face it, Janet loves to put her two cents in. She can’t help it. She loves the drama. Jesse finally speaks on Michelle’s accusations about a gay guy sending him money. Evidently, Jesse spent three summers at the man’s house in the Hamptons. The realtor noted, “He came to Capri with us and sent me money on my birthday. On my birth-day! He was one of 52 people at our wedding.” So it seems that they were just friends. No benefits. Thus ends the mystery of the faux escort days.

Sadly, Danny finally breaks down after a season of hell. And even Nia shared, “I’m not happy with the way he drinks,” but added they always get back on the same page. However, Jasmine dropped a bomb, saying she doesn’t feel his apology to her was genuine. For Jasmine, it’s about feeling like her relationship wasn’t looked at the same as everyone else’s. It’s clear the Bookos and everyone else are not on the same page.

The Valley airs Tuesday nights at 8 pm on Bravo. It streams on Hayu in the UK and Ireland.
