Millie Bobby Brown has no intentions of taking a break when Stranger Things officially ends.
For her next role, she’ll be delving into the world of gymnastics. Since 2016, she has portrayed Eleven on Stranger Things, with that series officially releasing its fifth and final season near the end of 2025.
Millie has enjoyed considerable success not only with that show but also with her movies, starring as the title character in the Enola Holmes franchise.
Her latest character is one that Americans will remember fondly as one of the most iconic moments in the history of Olympic gymnastics.
Millie Bobby Brown will star as gymnast Kerri Strug in Perfect
The heroic story of Kerri Strug is one of incredible heart and perseverance. Deadline reports that Millie will play the former Olympic gymnast, and is in final negotiations for the part. Gio Coppola will direct Perfect. Though the deal isn’t closed yet, Netflix is negotiating to land the package.
Coming into the 1996 Atlanta Olympics, there was enormous pressure around Kerri and the American women’s gymnastics team. On a bad ankle, Kerri powered her team, known as The Magnificent Seven, to victory. Her perfect landing in the vault routine clinched the gold medal for the Americans, with her ankle giving out almost immediately after. That image is among the most vivid and incredible in Olympic history.
Ronnie Sandahl is writing the movie. Being a part of this project may be a way for the newly adoptive mother to garner more attention for awards in the same way I, Tonya helped Margot Robbie garner more attention as a respected actress. Margot was nominated for an Oscar for her portrayal of Tonya Harding in that film.
Sources say that Perfect is likely to begin shooting in the spring.
