1. Lanzarote, Canary Islands, Spain (26.8°C)
Temperatures are still fairly hot in Lanzarote in October, according to the Met Office, with an average high of 26.8ºC.
The warmest destination on our list, it’s definitely one for those who prefer to bask in the sun on a sandy beach.
Flights from the UK to Lanzarote take around four hours, but being off the coast of Africa, the sun is almost guaranteed.
October has minimal rainfall in Lanzarote, making it the perfect time to hike, explore the island’s local markets and vineyards, and take part in water sports without the summer crowds.

2. Cyprus (26.7 °C)
The second warmest destination on our list, Cyprus, enjoys hot temperatures during October, but more specifically in Paphos, where there are highs of around 26.7ºC and 10 hours of sun each day.
The sea temperature is also warm in October, averaging 24ºC, making it the perfect month to take a dip.
With visitor numbers on the lower side in October, travellers can explore Paphos’ archaeological sites and food festivals without the crowds.
Flights to Cyprus take around 4.5 to five hours from the UK.

3. Gran Canaria, Canary Islands, Spain (26.4°C)
According to the Met Office, Gran Canaria is warm, sunny, and dry in October, with average highs of 26.4°C.
The beautiful island has 147 miles of coastline and 60 miles of golden beaches, making it the perfect spot for an autumn beach holiday.
Flights to Gran Canaria from the UK take approximately four to 4.5 hours but the specific time will depend on the airport you’re flying from.
Visitors can expect a more relaxed experience in October with the worst of the crowds being in the peak summer months.
Some popular activities to do in October include hiking, chestnut picking, watersports and relaxing on the beach.

4. Kos, Greece (26°C)
Kos, a Greek island in the Aegean Sea, is known for its stunning beaches and rich history.
According to the Met Office, temperatures reach highs of 26°C in October, with around eight hours of sunshine each day.
However, there are occasional rain showers in October, so visitors should pack a light raincoat just in case.
Unlike the summer months, Kos is much quieter in October, making it the perfect time to explore some of the island’s tourist attractions.
Visitors can take a day trip to see the island’s volcano in Nisyros, explore the island’s charming villages, or simply relax on the beach.
