Throughout Will Trent’s three-season run, viewers have had the chance to see connections form, shift, and grow between nearly every possible pair of characters, and the show’s next season should feature an under utilized duo. As Will Trent season 4 looms closer, viewers have been ready to see more of Will Trent (Ramón Rodriguez) and the rest of the GBI working together.
As there are multiple layers to the cast, with Will and Faith Mitchell (Iantha Richardson) working under Amanda Wagner (Sonja Sohn) at the GBI while Angie Polaski (Erika Christensen) and Michael Ormewood (Jake McLaughlin) work for the Atlanta PD directly, it can be interesting to see how they often intermingle. Thankfully, the show consistently does a wonderful balancing act with its characters.
Moving into Will Trent season 4, viewers have seen more unexpected pairs working together on the series, as is common with procedurals. Pairing characters up can be tricky if they don’t have a foundation for their relationship, but Will Trent often makes it feel seamless in the way they loop characters’ overarching plots together. Next season, one pair should be critical to the plot.
Faith & Angie’s Relationship Has Been Sparse In The Past
They Haven’t Been Close Or Interested In A Connection
While Will Trent has allowed nearly all of its characters to interact at this point on the show, one of the most under-utilized pairs on the series has been Faith and Angie. Though the pair haven’t often had the chance to work together, they have a foundation to build on. Seeing the pair interact over the final episodes of Will Trent season 3 was exciting.
Throughout the run of the show so far, Faith and Angie’s respective relationships with Will kept them as polite colleagues at best, but things have shifted. As Will Trent season 3 came to an end, Faith and Angie had some common ground when Faith was able to relate to Angie’s unplanned pregnancy. Both were able to find strength in each other at a key moment.
Angie Could Lean On Faith Throughout Will Trent Season 4
Both Will Trent Women Prioritize The Same People
Will Trent season 4 should be utilizing the relationship between Angie and Faith as they move toward a new era for the characters. Rather than the pair bonding over something that could shift, like their connections with Will, allowing them to bond over motherhood and support one another in being career-minded women with children will be a stronger point of connection.
While both have had moments in the past where it made sense for them to be invested in one another’s stories, the pair finding their footing in their friendship and supporting one another from a personal commonality makes the most sense. Angie will have a lot to learn from Faith, and Faith may be able to heal parts of herself with Angie as Will Trent continues.
