Listener tears of joy and overwhelming positive reactions along with deep personal notes have been formed by the Dax Shepard episode of the Armchair Expert, with impersonator Matt Friend. Shepard said about the episodes that it is funny, “so nearly impossible to choose a clip,” praising Friend’s ingenuity as an impersonator and his overall charm. The general agreement is that this is an instant classic because it is the first episode where a guest is entirely dedicated to impressionists.

The excitement started to build from when he put the post up. He described Friend as an “impersonation Expert!!! Our first,” later adding, “And oh is he funny.” Then came a little sneak peek of the insanity; Friend portrayed Bill Maher with chilling accuracy. Friend-as-Maher then ranted about political division, “The left isn’t the right, and the right isn’t the left. And that’s what drives me crazy, right?” Then he started joking about having dinner with Donald Trump: “I would have died with Hitler if there was an option. He would’ve liked me. We know why? Because I’m a Jew who can make him laugh.”
Listeners came to agree with Shepard, almost all saying that one of the highlights was Shepard’s uncontrollable fits of laughter. One said, “Dax seemed so quiet when I was listening so I switched to watching and Dax is just dying from laughter.” They stated that co-host Monica Padman would have been totally fooled, “believed that there’s a new guest with every impression.” “I have never laughed so much.”
It took away their breath are two words that best describe the talent on display. One user wrote, “Matt Friend is not an impressionist. He’s like a medium or something, it’s insane.” “Met Matt at my local college last year… Good sport and amazing impressions.” That was the sentiment expressed by many who expressed endless joy; an old-time listener said, “This was one of my favorite episodes so far. My brain was so happy that I actually smiled today.”
Comedy still remained the show in focus with some giggles trigger from the fact-check segment. A bit of confusion arose about Matthew Perry’s family. One fan declared excitedly, “I love that Monica thought Matthew Perry’s dad had two sons named Matthew.” Another listener then chimed in, “I kept waiting for someone to point this out!” And those hilarious vibes were certainly part of the attraction of this show.

Political satire; life talks that make your heart pull, and pretty much, everything Matt Friend did on Armchair was a massive success of the different types. It solidly made everybody laugh and gave them room to connect on meaningful issues. Another fan stated it best, “This interview seemed super short! Probably because I could listen to him all day.” This, by all means, means that there must be a sequel to this show with Matt Friend in it. Aaron Weakley was also part of the conversation.
