The raw clip shows Silvers singing those first immortal bars with focus! Her caption further explains the emotion attached to the occasion: “God I hope I made Johnny proud,” she wrote. “Still processing.” And then she went off-course to offer some massive gratitude toward Batiste for taking her on tour, as well as towards a myriad of music legends; Dolly Parton, Joan Baez, Willie Nelson, and a simple “Wow. Wow.”

The post will certainly have struck a chord as many celebrities and fans have reacted to it, having witnessed the live performance. Lena Headey left a heartfelt message, saying, “Absolutely Fucking gorgeous Diana… got me emotional. ❤️U” This goes right to the heart of what this show was all about, all the more amplified by how Diana poured all her raw emotion into the classic.

Another witness also expressed the same feelings: She called it an amazing performance and said everyone around her was talking about how “adorable” Silvers was on stage. Such feedback was descriptive of a performer who entertains not just vocally but also personally and charmingly.

A more profound response was shared by a fan who caught a set opener in Oklahoma City: “You made me cry when you opened with this in OKC,” the fan wrote. “It is one of my favorite songs and I do feel johnny would be proud, for what that’s worth.” Silvers responded, stating she could hardly believe the interaction and thanking the fan for being there, a mutual appreciation cemented between performer and audience through the extraordinary bond of shared musical experiences.

This is surely not the end of the positive reactions: Other comments range from calling her voice “beautiful” and “incredible” to naming her “the next Joan Baez.” Then there were those who spoke of the physical impact of her performance, one saying, “This made my whole chest feel warm and fuzzy.” It’s obvious that Diana Silvers does not pass for an actress fooled into music, but she’s a very real sound artist.
