Julia Fox discusses being celibate, exploring nudity on screen, and how men need to be just more f***able in a new interview. Notably, the 35-year-old actress is promoting her film, which was released on September 19.
Julia Fox did not hold back on her opinion about being celibate in a new interview with Glamour magazine. The actress is promoting her recently released film, Him, where she plays the role of Elsie White.
The 35-year-old actress addressed her past comments on celibacy. She clarified, “I don’t know if celibate is the right word, because I think that has a lot of religious [connotations].”
Expanding on her comments, Fox confessed that she is unable to find the right partner. She revealed, “I just can’t find anyone that I want to f***. That’s really what’s happening right now, and it’s a big problem – and I think a lot of women feel that way. So I think men need to just be more f***able.”
For those unversed, Bumble launched an extensive campaign on TikTok around the topic of celibacy. On May 11, billboards from the controversial campaign were plastered around the country. The main tagline read, “A vow of celibacy is not the answer.” (via PEOPLE)
Understandably, the campaign went viral and sparked intense discussions about dating, intimacy, and women’s safety. The viral post read: “Imagine pretending to be a dating app FOR WOMEN and launching a million-dollar ad campaign BLAMING WOMEN for a very normal reaction to men’s violence.”
The viral TikTok post garnered 1.8 million views, including a comment from Fox. She wrote in the comments section, “2.5 years of celibacy and never been better tbh.”
She also shed light on the landmark Roe vs. Wade case and how the overturning of that decision forced her to embrace celibacy. “Our rights being stripped away from us — this is a way that I can take back control,” she said. “And it just sucks that it has to be that way, but I just don’t feel comfortable until things change, ” she quipped.
Fox was previously in a relationship with rapper Kanye West in 2022.
