An original Stranger Things character is set to return in season 5 after their death in season 1 — there’s just a major catch. The long-awaited conclusion of one of Netflix’s biggest shows of all time begins later this year, over three years after the previous season. Stranger Things season 5 will be released in three chapters, with the first bowing on November 26, followed by additional episodes on December 25 and December 31.
According to TIME Magazine, Barb will make a brief appearance in the final episodes of Netflix’s hit series. During a visit to the set, a reporter got a first look at Barb’s body in the Upside Down, and it wasn’t pretty. Barb, played by Shannon Purser, can be seen half-buried underground with a gash on her neck and covered in vines characteristic of the other-worldly dimension.
