The Issue: The revised Russia-Ukraine peace plan, which originally imposed unfair demands on Ukraine.
Where have you gone, President Trump? You were the protector of the underdog, defender of freedom and purveyor of common sense (“Trying to fit the Peace of puzzle,” Nov. 24).
The slaughter of innocent Ukrainians is no different than the slaughter of Christians in Africa. In that instance, Trump rightly defended the victims and even threatened to use the military if the killing continued.
It’s time Trump shows he is the true guardian of freedom. Anything less will show that he is a sycophant to Russia, as his detractors allege.

The basic problem is the same as when the war started. The Russians were massing on Ukraine’s Eastern border and NATO could have massed troops on the Western border to deter the Russians.
The Western governments have to decide whether they want to stand up to Russia or let them take over Ukraine.
Adolph Hitler kept pushing while the rest of Europe backed off instead of staring him down. Similarly, the Russians just keep on going and will until they take over Ukraine.

Special envoy Steve Witkoff may have a sharp reputation as a New York City real-estate negotiator, but he gets low marks for standing up for democracy (“Rubio for the Ukraine-Peace Save,” Editorial, Nov. 25).
He swallowed Vladimir Putin’s propaganda on Ukraine whole and almost gave away the keys to the Ukrainian kingdom.
Luckily, Russia hawk Marco Rubio has restored sanity by applying the brakes to what appeared to be a runaway train to Moscow.

The only peace deal that can possibly be made is this: total withdrawal of all Russians to the 2014 borders and the return of all Ukrainian citizens and civilians.
Russia has committed all types of war crimes: murder, torture, rape, kidnapping and chemical weapons used to target purely civilian areas. All of these are pure Nazi tactics.
If Putin retains one square foot of Ukrainian soil, then he has won.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky is naive to think he can trust America. As a three-time voter for President Trump, I was on-board with providing intelligence and selling weapons to Europe, which in turn would be given to Ukraine. What changed?
It’s as if the Trump administration must save Putin from the economic cliff. Will we soon learn that Trump will be building a resort on the Black Sea?

Winston Churchill said “War is mainly a catalogue of blunders” and that couldn’t be more true with the existing conflict between Ukraine and Russia.
Continuing this war with the possibility of expanding it through Europe is unacceptable. Zelensky and others who support continuing this warfare must understand that peace sometimes requires sober, candid and pragmatic recognitions— in this case, that Ukraine can’t win and America will no longer provide open-ended support.
The only conclusion to be reached is the realization that an ugly peace is the only viable option.

The countless Ukrainians who’ve sacrificed their lives to defend their land and sovereignty deserve better; their courage should not be dismissed or negotiated away for the sake of expedience.
Supporting Ukraine is not just a strategic choice — it is a moral obligation. Abandoning them now would signal to the world that democracies can be bullied into surrender.
That is not the message America should send.

I am as MAGA as it gets, but something is amiss. After decrying and condemning all the deaths caused by Putin’s misadvised adventures in Ukraine, Trump now seems to be yielding to the criminal Russian leader, doing his best imitation of Neville Chamberlain’s “Peace in our time.” We all know how that turned out.
