There’s one airline that stands out among the rest as being the “most reliable” – and it’s a UK airline hugely popular with British holidaymakers.
When you’re booking a flight, you want to feel assured that you won’t experience any problems. Having a reliable airline will take away some of your travel stress and you’ll be able to enjoy your journey without worrying. An air passengers rights company, AirAdvisor, examined nearly 1.5 million flights across 2023 and 2024 and concluded which airlines are least likely to see delays.
Taking the top spot is Jet2, an airline with an impressive 0.2% cancellation rate.
It also came out with a 67.4% score for on-time arrivals in 2024. This is the second year that Jet2 has finished top of these rankings.
In second place is EasyJet, which also showed to be a dependable airline – it gained a cancellation rate score of 1.1%.
In third place is Virgin Atlantic with an on-time rating of 70.5%. At spot number four is British Airways with a 2.4% cancellation rate score.
Anton Radchenko, aviation expert at AirAdvisor, said: “As Christmas travel ramps up, reliability becomes more than just a number; it is the key to keeping holidays intact.
“When demand peaks, even small operational inefficiencies can ripple through entire networks.
“What we’re seeing in this data is that size doesn’t always equal reliability.
“Jet2, for instance, operates fewer routes than easyJet or British Airways but achieves cancellation rates that are virtually zero.”
