Kate Middleton has allegedly had enough of the bad blood between her and Meghan Markle. In the spirit of forgiveness, Kate wants to put their petty feud behind them and start fresh in 2026.
Kate has had a rough couple of years. After the passing of her husband’s grandmother, Queen Elizabeth II, in 2022, both Kate and her father-in-law, King Charles III, were diagnosed with cancer. After going through both chemo and radiation therapy, Kate is now cancer-free and ready to move on.
Kate Middleton could find “common ground” and “forgiveness” with Meghan Markle
“Kate and Meghan have exchanged the occasional pleasantry over the last couple of years,” a palace source recently told Star. “[But] they aren’t on speaking terms. There’s been no meaningful conversation.”
In January 2025, Kate announced that her cancer was in remission. But as 2026 approaches, she wants the new year “to be her year of peace, in every area of her life,” the insider explained. “If that’s going to happen within her own extended family, she’s accepted she needs to reach out and wave the white flag.”
And if his wife can make peace with Meghan, perhaps Prince William can mend things with his brother Prince Harry. In fact, The Spare has made it clear that he’s open to reconciling with his family. “There is no point in continuing to fight anymore,” he told the BBC back in May.
“Kate does feel that William and Harry’s chances of making up would be a lot greater if she and Meghan were able to find some common ground,” added the source. “She does not want to drag this cold war into 2026 … Maybe a phone call ahead of Christmas could be arranged to at least open the door towards some sort of forgiveness.”
Following taking a step back as senior royals in 2020, Harry and Meghan now live with their two children in Montecito, California. Though rumor has it, that could soon change.
