Daytime host Kelly Ripa recounted a rude incident she had with a passenger on an airplane. In a Live With Kelly and Mark segment on Tuesday, December 2, where the couple ranted about air travel, Ripa described a strange occurrence she experienced that she had “not too long ago” involving her backpack and the airplane’s overhead bin.
Ripa annoyed by man’s “weird flex” on an airplane
Noticing that the bin near the couple’s seats was relatively empty, Ripa decided to place her carry-on bag there instead of the space underneath the seat. But a male passenger decided to do something she found oddly “aggressive” with her backpack.
“I put my backpack in the overhead, and the man that was sitting in front of me came on board,” she recalled. “And he put this suitcase on top of my backpack, which I felt was aggressive.”
Not wanting her bag to get squashed, she promptly rearranged the bin. “So, I got up and I moved his bag off of my backpack. I was like, ha! Then, I sat back down.”
Ripa then pointed to her husband as she told the rest of the story. “And then I sent you a text,” she added. “I was like, ‘Did you see that man put his bag on top of my bag?’ I thought it was a weird flex.”
Consuelos added his complaints to the lack of overhead bin space, telling the audience that they should always try to board as close to the front as possible. The boarding process for one unnamed airline, however, irritates him thoroughly.
“There’s one airline that goes… the executive blah blah blah blah, and then gold executive blah blah blah, and then the pink executive blah blah blah blah blah, and then the whatever color executive blah blah blah blah,” he grumbled. “By the time you get on the plane, all the stuff’s gone, all the overhead.”
Ripa recently shared her Christmas frustration as well about what her husband does during the holidays.
