Erica Banks just went from Buss It to busted. The Love & Hip Hop star, whose real name is Erica Breaux, wound up behind bars after being arrested on drug charges. It all started when she got pulled over while riding in a vehicle that had been reported stolen. Things quickly went downhill from there.
Erica Breaux was allegedly found with drugs in a stolen car
Atlanta’s Fox 5 got the details of Erica’s arrest, which went down in Brookhaven, Georgia, on Monday, December 8. According to the cops, they pulled over a vehicle after noticing it had a tinted tag covering the license plates. When they got closer to the vehicle, they realized the car still had dealership tags. It had been reported stolen.
Erica was riding shotgun in the car. The driver was someone named Amani Dirton. When the cops pulled them out of the vehicle to search them, they allegedly found ecstasy pills in Erica’s purse. The cops claimed Amani had “packets of marijuana.”
The cops arrested both Erica and the driver. They charged Erica with possession of a Schedule II controlled substance with intent to distribute. Meanwhile, the driver got charged for theft by receiving stolen property, possession of marijuana with intent to distribute, and having an improperly displayed license plate. Stay tuned to see if a judge lets these latest charges stick.
Love & Hip Hop fans first met Erica on screen in Season 11. She was fresh off her viral success with her songs Buss It and Toot That. However, her success has also been riddled with legal troubles.
Earlier this year, she got arrested at the Atlanta airport for trying to get through TSA with a gun in her bag. When they ran the serial number, it turned out the gun had been reported stolen. Is anyone noticing a pattern here?
