The trailer for Daredevil: Born Again Season 2 revealed Daredevil’s new suit, Jessica Jones, and the state of New York City under Mayor Fisk / Kingpin. However, many are wondering about what is going on with Foggy Nelson, played by Elden Henson. A major character in Netflix’s Daredevil, fans were shocked when the season premiere of Born Again Season 1 killed off Foggy, with his death looming over Matt Murdock for the entire series.
Well, everything just got more complicated, as the new trailer for Daredevil: Born Again Season 2 features a brief shot of Henson’s Foggy Nelson. The context of the scene s unknown, but it appears he is meeting with a client who has been locked up. In October 2025, Henson was confirmed to be part of Daredevil: Born Again Season 2, leading many to speculate about how his character could return in the upcoming batch of episodes. Did the latest footage reveal a concrete answer? There may be more than meets the eye.
How Is Foggy Nelson in ‘Daredevil: Born Again’ Season 2?
There are a number of ways Henson could reprise his role as Foggy Nelson. The most obvious is that the character is dead and all of his scenes are flashbacks. Krysten Ritter has already teased that the series will delve into what Jessica Jones has been up to since audiences last saw her in her series, so Daredevil: Born Again could flesh out the time spent between Daredevil Season 3’s finale and Born Again Season 1 premiere episode.
Meanwhile, many fans have speculated that Foggy is not dead. In the comics, he faked his own death and went into the witness protection program. While adapting the storyline would be considered comics-accurate, this would be a pretty big leap for the television series to make and might risk undermining the dramatic weight of the Born Again Season 1 premiere. It also runs the risk of making death feel like it has even less weight in the MCU.
Foggy being featured in Daredevil: Born Again is something that occurred after the show received a creative overhaul. When the series first began filming, the only recurring characters from the Netflix series were Matt Murdock (Charlie Cox) and Wilson Fisk (Vincent D’Onofrio). When it halted production during the SAG-AFTRA strike of 2023, the story was reworked to tie more closely into the Netflix continuity, bringing in Foggy and Karen Page (Deborah Ann Woll). With Karen getting a much larger role in Born Again Season 2, the same might be true for Foggy. All will be revealed when Daredevil: Born Again returns to Disney+ on Mar. 24, 2026.
