Fire & Ash Finally Hits Huge Box Office Milestone After Trailing Behind First Two Movies

This article covers a developing story. Continue to check back with us as we will be adding more information as it becomes available.

Avatar: Fire and Ash has finally hit a major domestic box office milestone after trailing behind its two predecessors. The new James Cameron movie is a direct sequel to 2009’s Avatar and 2022’s The Way of Water, which are respectively the first and third highest-grossing movies of all time worldwide.

Per Deadline, Avatar: Fire and Ash grossed $28.9 million during its fourth week at the domestic box office, which brings it to a cumulative domestic total of $350 million. It is only the fifth 2025 release to hit the $350 million milestone, behind Superman ($354.2 million domestic), Zootopia 2 ($380.7 million), Lilo & Stitch ($423.8 million), and A Minecraft Movie ($423.9 million).

However, Fire and Ash took 28 days to hit this milestone, which the previous Avatar movies accomplished much quicker. The original 2009 movie took 17 days while The Way of Water took just 14 days.
