The actress showed a very tempting photo and wrote ‘Lady in red – one of my favorite looks. Thank you for making @emilyinparis #1 on @netflix for a whole week! We are feeling the love and could not do this without you…’ The post was literally a celebration of the show’s victory and at the same time a sneak peek of one of the recent season’s most stylish characters’ outfits.
Most people were very generous with their praises for the outfit. The most significant fact was that fashion was pointed out by the majority and one commenter wrote ‘Love the red! Plus the shoes are so fun.’ Another remarked, ‘this look was by far my favorite! so good!’ The style, just like always, created a huge buzz among the public.
However, the wardrobe topic was soon forgotten. With Season 5 having just been released, audiences had a lot to say about the plot. A shared feeling was the mixture of love and critique. One viewer wrote, ‘Finished season 5 and now waiting for season 6 please don’t be late!’, underlining the strong hold the series has over the audience.
On the contrary, the viewers’ approval was not one-sided. A pretty negative critic shared his/her experience and indicated, ‘I have adored all seasons and was so looking forward to season five! Unfortunately, I have found it to be quite dull and the same old same old!! I mean how many guys do you need!!… Just jumping in and out of beds!!’ There was a small agreement created, with another person commenting, ‘Right? This season was like a bunch of filler episodes. I really missed Camille too.’
Gabriel’s character, Emily’s indecisive lover, was a divisive issue amongst the audience. ‘So much better back in Paris! Love Gabriel, go get him!!’ a fan yelled. Instantly, this was negated in the comments by a person saying, ‘Gabriel is not lovable; he is confused and unsure of what he wants from life!’ and another one being, ‘Dude, he is so immature.’
While the viewers were discussing the show, a not so pleasant undercurrent was present regarding Lily Collins’s appearance. The question of her figure came up in a few comments like, ‘Eat! The wind is blowing you away.’ and ‘You are too thin, you should put on some weight. This is not beautiful.’ A very defensive response followed from one of the viewers who said, ‘I am just asking… to those who are saying things about her weight, how would you feel if I told you to stop eating because you are fat? Just asking.’
Notwithstanding the mixed opinions on the story unfolding of the season and the unwanted body weight discussion, there was somehow a certain kind of celebration. Lily Collins recently celebrated five seasons of the show with an emotional premiere post. The unbroken success of the show is a sign of the committed, though noisy, fans. Viewers have already started asking for a season six and offering new places like Greece as options which just shows that Emily’s adventures are far from over.

She also celebrated season five with a stunning fashion retrospective. The production has really put in a lot of effort to keep its number one status and it is still in progress, as the discussions around the series are still very much alive. Lily Collins has also teamed up with Cartier and Elle Arabia for a chic collaboration. In related news, she shared an emotional tribute to her co-star Ashley Park.
