Mamdani’s ‘abolish ICE’ statement: Letters

The Issue: Mayor Mamdani’s call for ICE to be abolished during an interview on ABC’s “The View.”

Many of the illegal immigrants in America are hardened criminals, yet Mayor Mamdani is providing cover for many of them and therefore threatening life, liberty and the right to happiness in America (“Mad Mamdani calls to abolish agency,” Jan. 21).

This twisted socialist should be sent to Somalia with no right of return.

Also, former President Joe Biden and former Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas should be jailed for ignoring immigration laws and allowing these illegal immigrants into the USA.

Mamdani, on “The View, called for the abolishment of ICE. Is going on “The View” the best way to spend his time? He needs to stay in City Hall and figure out how he’s going to run the city and make us prosper again.

We’re sitting on millions of dollars in budget deficit, and this clown is going on talk shows.

I’d like to know how Mamdani thinks we’d be able to find illegal immigrants who commit terrible crimes like murder and rape without ICE. If he is expecting local police departments to handle it, he’s dreaming.

ICE is an organization specifically trained to deal with illegal immigrants. There wouldn’t be enough police to handle what ICE does.

The bottom line: Our mayor really has no idea what he’s talking about, nor how to govern a city as big as New York.

Mamdani’s opposition to ICE, an arm of the federal government, is practically a violation of the terms of his naturalization and the oath he took to support the Constitution as a naturalized citizen.

Coming to America is the opportunity of a lifetime, but like all rights, it entails responsibilities. One of which, at a minimum, should be refraining from joining organizations like the Democratic Socialists of American, whose sole purpose is to destroy America.

Mamdani has made it clear he’s all for abolishing ICE. I’m not a reporter, but I’d like to ask him the following questions: What is your alternative to the removal of people here illegally? What is your level of comfort with serious criminals living amongst us?

I said it before, and I’ll say it again: This mayor is the last nail in the coffin for New York City.

The Issue: Rep. Ilhan Omar’s soaring net worth as fraud scandals are uncovered in Minnesota.

Rep. Ilhan Omar must be so grateful to the wonderful country of America for allowing her to become a part of the wealthy class (“Don: Send Omar to jail — or Somalia,” Jan. 20).

Her Somali constituents are also grateful for the billions of dollars Minnesota has received via federal funding allowing them to thrive in the day-care business, transportation services and grocery stores, most of which don’t even exist.

Ilhan’s adamant denial and obnoxious treatment of those who make these allegations is quite telling. It’s about time for our government leaders to take control of monetary wrongdoing by elected officials.

It’s about time the feds investigated Omar’s rising wealth. Omar and her husband Tim Mynett have gone from nearly broke to being worth $30 million in one year. Her husband also runs Rose Lake Capital, which has seen a massive increase in assets.

There’s a Somali social-services scandal going on in Omar’s district, and Congress better get some answers to all of this soon. The people are fed up with being robbed when paying taxes.
