The final episode of Mayor of Kingstown Season 4 aired on Sunday, December 28, with a dark and deadly ending that changed everything for the heroes of the Paramount+ drama.
The Taylor Sheridan-verse crime series amped up the grit in its fourth outing, with tons of shocking character demises and clashes.
So what does the future hold for Mayor of Kingstown? Here’s a look.
Is Mayor of Kingstown renewed for Season 5?
Yes. The series has been renewed for a fifth and final season. Paramount+ has confirmed that Season 5 will run for eight episodes, as opposed to the usual 10.
Who will star in Mayor of Kingstown Season 5?
The main cast for Season 5 will include the return of Jeremy Renner as Mike McLusky and Edie Falco as Nina Hobbs, according to a press release from the streamer.
The rest of the central cast also includes Taylor Handley as Kyle, Hugh Dillon (also executive producer of the series) as Ian Ferguson, Tobi Bamtefa as Bunny Washington, Derek Webster as Stevie, Necar Zadegan as Evelyn Foley, and Laura Benanti as Cindy Stephens.
There are several characters we know won’t be back after the events of Season 4, including Carney (Lane Garrison), Robert (Hamish Allan-Headley), Tracy (Nishi Munshi), and Frank Moses (Lennie James).
When will Mayor of Kingstown Season 5 premiere?
No premiere date details have been revealed for Mayor of Kingstown Season 5, and the past is definitely not prologue with this show. Previously, the seasons have aired on very scattered premiere timelines, with Season 1 dropping in November 2021, Season 2 in January 2023, Season 3 in June 2024, and Season 4 in October 2025.
What will happen in Mayor of Kingstown Season 5?
The new season is likely to follow up on the consequential Season 4 finale, which saw Kyle take revenge against Merle Callahan (Richard Brake) for the murder of his wife, Tracy, in uncharacteristically brutal fashion.
“With all the damage that he’s doing, it may feel good in the moment, but I think that he’s going to have a hard time dealing with himself if this story goes on,” Handley told TV Insider of his character’s gutwrenching arc.
Meanwhile, Ian won the lottery on a scratch-off after expressing a desire to leave Kingstown for Montana; Cindy found herself in the middle of a deadly gang war inside the prison’s infirmary; and Bunny successfully usurped Frank Moses to take over his Detroit-based depot empire.
