A personal trainer has shared a recipe for blueberry muffins that will make you wonder why you haven’t been making them this way all along.
It can be hard to find sweet treats that are going to satisfy your cravings when you’re trying to eat a little healthier. And while it’s important to indulge from time to time in chocolate, there are still ways to live a balanced lifestyle while enjoying sweet treats.
James White, who shares recipes and gym motivation on TikTok, shared “how to make healthy, high-protein blueberry muffins” with just a few ingredients – and it seems too good to be true.
He added two bananas, 250g of peanut butter, two eggs, and 150g of blueberries into a bowl, and then mixed the ingredients all together until the texture resembled cake batter.
Then, he poured the batter into a tin which had individual sections in, perfect for making muffins, and you likely already have one lying around in your cupboards at home. If not, they can be bought cheaply at most supermarkets.
Then, you need to bake the muffins to get “simple, healthy and delicious blueberry muffins”. They should go into the oven for 15 minutes at 180C.
James joked that it “seems too easy,” but when he took a muffin out of the tray, he said: “That looks stunning”.
He tried one and said: “They are so nice. I do not know why you would eat anything else. My goodness. What was in this? Egg, banana, blueberries and peanut butter?
“There really is no excuse for not eating healthy and enjoying your food. These are four ingredients, in the oven for 15 minutes. That’s all you need. They are so flipping nice.”
As well as being tasty, the muffins are super satisfying and could help you reach your goals.
The PT added: “High protein blueberry muffins. Perfect for if you’re trying to build muscle, but if you’re trying to lose weight, they are also perfect because they’re low in calories and high in protein.
“They’ll fill you up through to your next meal, or have them at the end of the day as a pudding after your main meal.
“Then you can avoid all that sugary nasty stuff that you’d normally want to eat at that time of day. You will end up making these every single day”.
In the comments, people warned about the calorie content of peanut butter. However, others pointed out: “You’re not eating all six of the muffins at once”.
