One of longest trains featuring 86 tunnels and 37 bridges took 90 years to finish | Travel News | Travel

El Chepe, in Mexico, is one of the most famous and scenic train journeys in the world and one of the longest railways. The construction of El Chepe (The Copper Canyon route or Chihuahua-Pacific Railway) was an impressive project that took nearly 90 years to finish, and cost around $90million (£67million).

It officially opened in 1961, and it still is one of the most spectacular railway journeys, taking holidaymakers through the Sierra Madre Occidental, in Mexico, and connecting Los Mochis, on the coast, to the Chihuahua mountains. The incredible train journey features 86 tunnels and 37 bridges.
