Marvel Studios’ 2026 slate is close to finally kicking off, but not in theaters, as the next Marvel Cinematic Universe release will be on Disney+. The Multiverse Saga has only a handful of TV shows left for the MCU timeline before Phase 6 is over, and the next one will focus on a new hero for the franchise.
Wonder Man is premiering in less than a week, and critics have finally begun to share their reviews and early impressions of the MCU drama. As reactions roll out, the Phase 6 series has landed its official Rotten Tomatoes score, with Wonder Man debuting at 92%.
As reviews are still coming out, the Critics’ Score on Rotten Tomatoes is subject to change at the time of this story’s publication. The audience score for the MCU series will emerge after its launch on Disney+.
However, if the score still stands, it will be as critically acclaimed as WandaVision (92%), Loki season 1 (92%), and Hawkeye (92%). The highest-rated MCU show is still Ms. Marvel with a near-perfect 98%.
In ScreenRant’s Wonder Man review, Ben Gibbons praised the show for how it “sets out to prove that just because a story is set in a world where superpowers exist, it doesn’t make it any less impactful. And it succeeds.” Gibbons also adds how “this is a drama with comedy and action spliced in, digging into the mind of a man who is fighting hard to achieve his dreams.”
The Wonder Man TV show is led by Yahya Abdul-Mateen II as Simon Williams, marking his latest comic book role, after starring as Black Manta in the DCEU, as well as playing Doctor Manhattan on HBO’s Watchmen. The MCU drama also sees the return of Sir Ben Kingsley as Trevor Slattery, with Shang-Chi and Spider-Man: Brand New Day’s Destin Daniel Cretton as co-creator and executive producer, with Andrew Guest as head writer.
Marvel Studios’ Wonder Man will release all eight episodes on Tuesday, January 27, at 9 PM ET/6 PM PT, only on Disney+.
