Welcome to the recap for Vanderpump Rules Season 12, Episode 5. Last week, Venus confronted Marcus about airing out all his dirty laundry to their friends. When Marcus showed no remorse, Venus said buh-bye to their friendship. Jason also showed no remorse for flirting with a girl right in front of Angelica during their date. However, he wasn’t out of the running just yet when Angelica replied “maybe” to his invitation to hang out. Here’s exactly what went down in Vanderpump Rules Season 12, Episode 5: “Seeing Red (Flags).”
What happened in Vanderpump Rules Season 12, Episode 5?
Even though Venus had ended his friendship with Marcus, that didn’t mean he wanted to end things with Kim. The two apologized and decided to move on, albeit trepidatiously. Jason also apologized to Angelica for being a no-show. But when he admitted he had been seeing someone when he said that he wasn’t, Angelica sent him to the friend zone. However, then Angelica found herself in hot water with the group when she started making out with Shayne right after dumping Jason.
Was Chris a “sex worker?”
Demy and crew were setting up SUR for the day as Lisa checked in with Guillermo and Nathalie. First up on the agenda: determining if Chris was a “gigolo” or not. Nathalie said, “Somebody made a comment on social media that he was a ‘sex worker.’” Lisa joked she was one too in her confessional. She said, “It’s a f*cking job when you’ve been married forty-two years.”
Regardless of Chris’ extracurricular activities, they were all very happy with his performance at work. Which led to Lisa bringing up Marcus, who wasn’t doing so great. Still, she dished that she was going to give him a chance DJing at SUR for Guillermo’s movie premiere party. Nathalie was less gung-ho about it. She quipped, “Let’s see if he’s any good.”
Meanwhile, Natalie met up with Angelica at the nail salon. Even though they had a rough girls’ night with Natalie pushing Angelica for telling her to put her feelings on pause, it was like nothing had happened. Natalie apologized, and Angelica moved on.
Angelica then filled her in that she went to meet Jason at TomTom but he never showed up. Even though he was the one that invited her out. This guy just keeps getting better and better.
She shared that Jason kept texting her that he wanted to take her out to dinner. Angelica figured Jason could be just a fun fling, as she was still hooking up with her ex, after all. She said, “So, maybe Jason, he’s a cute little distraction in the midst of all of this.”
In her confessional, Natalie observed, “I’m not saying it doesn’t make her and Jason totally messy; it’s very messy. But that’s why she’s going to fit in at SUR just fine.”
Venus and Kim sort of make amends
Guillermo’s party was in full swing, and Marcus was living his best DJ life. Although he had no clue what he was doing, he already had plans within plans. He shared, “I think I’m crushing it. I should be DJing here. I mean, not only here, but around the world even. If that’s what the people want, I’m going to give them what they want.”
As Marcus figured out where to push play, Jason pulled Angelica aside to apologize for his stage five clinger comment. Then he turned up the charm factor to 11 and told Angelica he wanted to get to know her better. She couldn’t resist, and the two were scheduled for another date, which was more than likely going to be another disaster.
Venus and Kim also had a little apology sesh. First, Kim shared she was “afraid” to trust Venus. To which Venus called her out on her hypocrisy.
He reminded her that he had only gotten mad at her and Marcus while they did much worse. Venus said, “I feel like you and him have actually done things for me not to trust. Because now I have to be like, if I talk sh*t about someone and my best friend, how do I know you’re not going to tell them eventually if we end up fighting?”
Kim admitted what they did was wrong, but before she could get any further, Demy came out. Those goat cheese balls weren’t going to serve themselves!
Venus still felt that Kim didn’t fully understand what had happened but decided to move forward with their friendship anyways. But until Venus repaired things with Marcus, it probably wasn’t going to go as well with Kim as he’d hoped.
Jason comes clean
Somehow Angelica was shocked that the red flags kept popping up for Jason. During their Jiu-jitsu date, Jason admitted he was indeed seeing someone during their first date, but now they were over. And he did this while he had her pinned down on the ground. Awkward…
In her confessional, Angelica noted she asked Jason several times if he was seeing someone, and he lied to her. We quickly cut to those conversations and Jason giving non-answers.
When the producer asked if Jason knew she was still sleeping with her ex, Angelica spun her response like she was running for office. She stated, “I might have not used those words exactly, but I feel like it’s pretty obvious because I still live with him.” Red flag for Angelica!
Jason then leaned in for a kiss, which Angelica dodged immediately. He thought she was being coy but didn’t realize she was feeling the ick instead.
Meanwhile, in a galaxy far, far away, known as Burbank, Shayne and his pups Obi and Jar Jar prepped for his date(s). He was trying to get his mojo back after Natalie called him “boring.”
In his confessional, Shayne shared he used to be about hooking up and not caring about the consequences. And now … he was about hooking up and not caring about the consequences. Shayne said, “How do we tell the truth and still get our needs met?”
And the truth still seemed to be a foreign concept. When Shayne’s first date, Kristen, came over, and received his MO of trauma dumping, he lied and said his sister was texting him, when it was really his next date, Karina. Who then came over right after Kristen left. I think Shayne’s mojo was just fine.
Angelica dumps Jason for … Shayne?
The drama from the Jiu-jitsu date with Jason was still fresh on Angelica’s mind. She told Audrey that Jason tried to kiss her right after he admitted he had been dating someone. Angelica stated, “I don’t want anything to do with Jason.”
Audrey then shared another red flag. She said when she was taking a shower at Chris and Jason’s apartment, she saw a penis pump in Jason’s shower. Angelica sighed, “Everything I learn about this man…”
Then it came time for Angelica to drop the news to Jason that she was dunzo. And she decided to do it in front of everyone at The Abbey. When Jason approached her, Angelica complained she was injured from their date. Jason noticed the vibe was not vibing.
Angelica told him she felt they were better as friends. Jason took it on the chin, but in his confessional, he shared he was hurt because he had just been vulnerable with her. I can’t.
Then Angelica got messy. Not two seconds after dumping Jason, she got cozy with Shayne. And this made everyone take notice. Natalie scoffed she dodged a bullet, while Chris felt Angelica gave fake energy.
Everyone asked Jason if he felt Shayne was breaking bro code. However, Jason was more angry at Angelica, but Chris felt that Shayne had stepped out of line.
Suddenly, Angelica’s back was no longer hurting, and she took Shayne out onto the dance floor. Everyone’s jaws dropped as they started making out. What a tangled web we weave!
