Bloodborne Is Getting A Ton Of New Content, Thanks To The Fans

Bloodborne is dead and buried, in all likelihood, and fans have been obligated to take shovels and unearth it as much as they’ve been able to for the last decade via mods. Like many linear FromSoftware Soulslikes, Bloodborne has a ton of content to satisfy and occupy players. More than ten years after the release of both the base game and the Old Hunters DLC, however, it’s not surprising that there are so many fan-made mods available.

Browsing Nexus Mods in 2026 makes it evident how many players adore Bloodborne and wish to make it fully playable and technically impressive on PC. Basically anything under the sun can be found on Nexus Mods’ Bloodborne page, and it will likely be the responsibility of famished modders to continue refurbishing and reinvigorating the game, as Sony itself continues to leave the IP dormant.

Bloodborne Is Being Kept Alive In 2026

Between cosmetic alterations, performance and visual enhancements, and miscellaneous content additions, there are countless must-have Bloodborne mods for players to peruse on Nexus Mods, including:

  • 60FPS restoration patches.
  • Upscaled sky and cloud textures.
  • The option to trigger Lady Maria of the Astral Clocktower’s third phase at the beginning of the boss fight, skipping her first and second phases, with Maria maintaining a full health bar.
  • A ‘remake’ ReShade preset to make Bloodborne look and feel more like Demon’s Souls’ remake.
  • Increases in enemy density and more hostile NPC hunters.
  • A portable workshop via an item allowing players to access features that are normally exclusive to the Hunter’s Dream.

Indeed, Bloodborne’s modding capabilities are quite extensive, with players able to envision FromSoftware’s cosmic horror epic as differently as they’d like. Some Bloodborne PC players may simply choose to dabble in mods to bump up the game’s resolution and framerate, for instance, while others may prefer to transform the game into a completely different experience with bosses that are either modified or removed wholly.

Of course, many players may also enjoy running around Bloodborne’s Yharnam with their hunter avatar reskinned to look like NieR: Automata’s 2B—a popular skin mod in many PC games.

Fan Creations Ensure Bloodborne Will Never Die

It is deeply upsetting that there hasn’t even been a dedicated, official PC port for Bloodborne, and it is becoming more difficult to hold out hope for one this long after launch. Especially with PC ports of big-budget, high-profile PlayStation games being released in the last several years, it is particularly egregious that a game as revered as Bloodborne has not been treated to the same level of accessibility.

It could be folly for fans to cling to the possibility of a Bloodborne port, remaster, remake, or sequel. Thankfully, mods have stepped in to assume the role of at least a port, remaster, or remake.
