Connor Storrie is a man of many talents, including dialects. The Heated Rivalry star is preparing to guest-host the famed sketch comedy program Saturday Night Live (SNL). In a promo video ahead of his appearance, he’s seen in a conference room being praised for his Russian accent in his TV show about a hockey player who engages in a secret gay relationship with a player from another team.
In the segment, Connor declares that he can do many different accents besides the Russian one of his Heated Rivalry character, Ilya Rozanov. That prompts an epic showdown with an SNL cast member.

No challenge is too big for Connor, even that of the talented James Austin Johnson. The SNL cast member took on Connor in an accent duel. Among the accents the two did were German, Cajun, French and Shakespeare. In the end, Connor is asked to do Russian. Upon declaring, “Tell them Rozanov sent you,” he fires an imaginary bullet from his finger gun, killing the comedian.
While he’s become a massive name after just one season of his show, it almost didn’t happen for Connor. The actor said on Late Night with Seth Meyers that he planned on “getting a new job” before this part came along. It turned out to be a savvy career move, as the show has made him and his co-stars household names.
Heated Rivalry was picked up by HBO Max during the run of its opening season last year. The program has already been renewed for another season. In the meantime, Connor and his co-star have been making the rounds on numerous talk shows while he even presented an award at the Golden Globes earlier this year.
SNL has been on hiatus since the Winter Olympics concluded last weekend. Connor’s episode will air this Saturday, featuring musical guest Mumford and Sons.
