Into The Night Officially Coming This Summer

Cyberpunk has been one of the more popular original creations of the last few decades, and that fan base was grown considerably by the arrival of CD Projekt Red’s sprawling and immense RPG set in the same universe, Cyberpunk 2077.

That said, the developer has largely moved on from that game to work on The Witcher 4, as well as the early stages of a sequel to 2077, so we’re going to have to find other ways to get our fix for the foreseeable future.

Fortunately, there are great companies all over the place that are willing to step in and fill the void, including a very exciting community funded project that is going to start shipping their product to backers very soon indeed.

Over on Kickstarter, the page for Cyberpunk Legends: Into the Night has been posting regular updates about their progress, and they recently published quite an exciting one for those who are waiting on news of their launch. Billed as a story-driven co-op card game, developer Night Crew Games confirmed that they are on track to start shipping the product in July.

They additionally confirmed that retail distribution in Latin America is looking considerably more likely, and it has to be said that the whole process has been remarkably smooth for a Kickstarter project, particularly considering how often those don’t materialize properly.

If you aren’t familiar with the game at all, it’s set in Night City at the very start of the Cyberpunk timeline, in 2012. Designed to be played with 1-4 players, it comes complete with both a traditional narrative campaign and a roguelike deckbuilding mode, with additional plans for an expansion, thanks to the game meeting a $1 million stretch goal.

As mentioned earlier, the game is set to land in players’ laps in July, with most of the production and distribution for the regions where the game will be on sale now locked in. Non-English speaking audiences should also be catered for well, as the $900,000 localization stretch goal promised five additional languages for the biggest language audiences outside of English.

Though you can no longer back the project, you will be able to buy it online via most major stores once the initial load of products has been shipped to those who did get involved early. The game is also set to appear in stores in the United States and elsewhere, with exact details of that to be confirmed soon. In the meantime, Cyberpunk 2077 is just sitting there, so why not go back and play through it once more for old time’s sake.
