Xbox has officially unveiled a new game that you can play for free, with no need for a specific Xbox Game Pass subscription, but you’d better move fast if you are interested in checking it out. Most of the freebies offered by Microsoft are often locked behind a membership. For example, to gain access to some hidden gems on Xbox Game Pass, you’ll likely need a Premium or Ultimate subscription. However, the company does eventually give out free titles for all Xbox members, and one of them has just dropped.
According to an official post on Xbox Wire, any Xbox player, regardless of whether they are subscribed to Game Pass or not, will gain access to a new game for free, but for a limited time. The post highlights that Xbox Game Pass members will be able to play Train Sim 6: Thomas & Friends Edition over the weekend. However, there is one free title mentioned in the post that does not require any sort of subscription.

Between last Thursday, March 26, and Sunday, March 29, players will be able to play Rubber Bandits entirely for free. This is valid for every Xbox owner. Rubber Bandits is not part of the three free Xbox downloads released earlier this week. Instead, the game is part of the Free Play Days for All initiative, which happens nearly every weekend. In it, Xbox makes a game free for a period, giving players a chance to check it out.
Rubber Bandits is a multiplayer brawler centered around heists. As is implied by the title, you’ll control a rubber bandit and need to steal loot, fight opponents, and collaborate or dispute with your friends to escape with as much as you can. Up to four players can tackle the eight different game modes offered by this friendslop game. There are also customizable assets to unlock, such as Among Us and Peak.

If you’re interested in checking out Rubber Bandits for free, you’d better move fast, as the game will only be available until this upcoming Sunday. The good thing about the indie multiplayer game is that it supports crossplay for all platforms, so you can play on an Xbox console for free with your friends, regardless of whatever platform they are playing on – the game was just recently on sale on Steam, for example.
To start playing, you’ll need to press the Xbox button on your console, select the Store, go to Home, and enter the Subscriptions feature. From there, you’ll scroll down to Free Play Days, and you should be able to locate Rubber Bandits for free, which will enable you to download and play it on your Xbox.
