Bobby Flay gave fans a special treat on Tuesday (March 31) when he posted a video showing off his well-stocked apartment pantry.
In an Instagram clip from his podcast, Bobby on the Beat, the celebrity chef took his fans behind the scenes of his kitchen. “It’s kind of crazy how much stuff I actually really need because I’m cooking in my house all the time,” he said. “Whether I’m just cooking, you know, dinner or lunch or breakfast or a snack or a game-time meal, or we’re shooting some videos, I need a significant pantry.”
He started by showing his “dry goods” section, including glass jars of long-grain and short-grain rice, as well as various types of sugar and cornmeal. Flay also noted his supplies of stone-ground polenta, basmati rice, cous cous, farro, and arborio rice for risotto.
The Food Network star then pointed out his “Italian section,” which included “beautiful canned tomatoes,” specifically, “My man Chris Bianco’s DiNapoli’s roasted chopped tomatoes… I love those.” His Italian section also included sauces, rice, almond flour, oatmeal, cane sugar, and semolina flour.
On a lower shelf were a selection of hot sauces from First We Feast’s Hot Ones. Flay appeared on the popular YouTube series in October 2023, in which he answered host Sean Evans’ questions while eating spicy chicken wings. The multi-time Daytime Emmy winner specifically pointed out the sauce named “Da Bomb,” noting, “This is the one that they try to crush you on. As you can see, I have not opened this one.”
Flay also pointed out other sauces in his pantry, including pomegranate molasses, Tamari, in addition to balsamic vinegar, harissa, pink salt, capers, and olives. He then admitted that when he doesn’t feel like making his own barbecue sauce, his “favorite” is Bone Suckin’ Sauce.
He also highlighted his many chili powders, including “Chipotle to New Mexico, Aji Amarillo, Ancho chili and Adobo spice rub.”
His baking section included sweetened condensed milk and vanilla extract, alongside coconut oil, fig preserves, and almond extract. “It just goes on and on,” he said.
Fans jumped into the comments to share their reactions to Flay’s pantry tour, with one Instagram user writing, “He has a normal pantry like mine. I thought it would be like a Kardashian’s pantry.”
“Ok if that is genuinely his pantry, I am loving the low key, no frills set up!!” said another.
“I love how he doesn’t care what the pantry looks like and focus 100% of his attention to good ingredients and products,” added another.
Another wrote, “You’ve got all the bases covered!”
“I appreciate you but omg. That panty makes my mind explode,” quipped one fan.
“This is so real and authentic, I feel validated lol – I use so many of the same brands as the iron chef,” said another.
Fellow Food Network star Sunny Anderson also commented, poking fun at Flay, writing, “Bobby, my pantry is better than yours.” She later added, “‘A game time meal’ 🙄🙄🙄the last big game day you bragged about mushroom kale enchiladas.”
