As the latest project of ITV, the personality of Olivia Attwood along with four famous British personalities has been announced as a new reality show. Attwood will be on the series Getting Filthy Rich talking to the ladies of the celebrity world about the price of fame and the creating life. The ad post of the network not only signaled the network but also raised the demand for one significant celebrity and gave the audience a blast from the past.

The announcement came with a very simple tagline that said, “Olivia + 4 iconic queens…thank us later.” However, a loyal segment of the audience interpreted it less as a new-style show and more as a channel for a long-awaited return. The comments turned into a platform for petitions very instantly, and one request, that was overwhelmingly and unanimously ruling, was echoing from user to user.
The discussion made it very clear that there was only one victor. One admirer was very outspoken and straight away made a reference to the network: “Give KP a show! Just think if What Katie Did Next came back!” This was the dominant feeling. It wasn’t just another feeling. “I don’t want her to be, but I will be,” another user elaborated on the past, saying, “I want to see more Katie Price on my screen – I rewatch her old shows on YouTube,” underlining that old documentaries covering her, her loves, and her business in the early 2000s have still got the charm of making one rewatch them.
Not just any show was being claimed, but a revival of the old one especially on ITV. “Katie deserves her own show back on ITV,” a user wrote, and this idea was quickly accepted by others who called it “iconic.” The affection for Kerry Katona was also there, and one was suggesting a duo of the two. “We need a @katieprice and @kerrykatona7 show,” one person pronounced, recollecting their joint tour that was fruitful. “They were so comical on their tour and the audience want x more of them together.”
Despite the fans petitioning for the on-screen return of Katie Price, the other panelists were also praised. A fan of Lauren Goodger, an ex-‘The Only Way Is Essex’ star, said, “Love lauren. She deserves all the happiness.” Olivia Attwood, the series host who was a contestant on ‘Love Island’ and has since built a successful media career, is today’s anchor of these conversations, linking the different reality TV fame generations.
From all the comments begging for a Katie Price revival, it can be deduced that the new series has successfully nostalgic swings among the viewers. It is the time when these ladies were the queens of tabloids and television, and according to social media, they were just crossing the line going in one direction or the other with their “highs and lows,” as the promo promises.
Indeed, the thrill and the excitement were there but sometimes confusion was also mixed with it. One user said, “Love all these women although genuinely no idea who the bottom right one is. Maybe I’m showing my age!!!”— this was related to Hannah Elizabeth, another ‘Love Island’ contestant and the one that may cause such confusion. This very comment highlights that the show is brimming not only with legacy stars but also with modern ones and it caters to a wider audience.

It is a smart move by ITV to assemble this unique group. It again highlights the cultural timelessness of icons like Price and Katona while it continues to benefit from the current popularity of Attwood. Only time will show if ‘Getting Filthy Rich’ will satisfy the audience’s demand for a total Katie Price comeback. Yet, the network has at least made all of us conscious again of the star power it once skillfully possessed, proving that for some icons the public’s thirst is never fully quenched. The message from the fans is very clear: they are already for the next chapter. The show’s promotion also brought to mind the musical energy of artists like Akon.
