Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl 2 has been officially announced with new levels, characters, modes, and much more. The four-player cartoon fighting game is Nickelodeon’s version of Super Smash Bros. and includes a variety of characters from beloved Nickelodeon television shows as their brawlers. The sequel promises not only new content but also technical improvements such as full crossplay compatibility for all platforms and improved graphics over the original title which has been out for almost two years now.
After being plagued with never-ending technical difficulties and a declining player base with the original game, GameMill is already setting high expectations for Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl 2 with a long list of promises. The inclusion of a new story mode campaign for single-player gaming and improved crossplay can hopefully entice players to enjoy it more than the first. Fun characters from the various Nickelodeon franchises are the main selling point for the game, and with the addition of voice acting for every playable character, it can make the experience a great party game choice.
Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl 2 Announcement & Solo Campaign
Nickelodeon and GameMill announced the new Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl 2 on July 27, 2023, through a special trailer on IGN that shows off the expanded roster and improved graphics to the new title. Among the chaotic battles, the trailer showed a short snippet highlighting the addition of SpongeBob’s Squidward to Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl 2 and the catchy and upbeat music that accompanies the game.
A new story-driven single-player campaign is added to Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl 2. In this solo game mode, players have to fight their way to the top to stop Vlad Plasmius from Danny Phantom from taking over the entire Nickelodeon universe. More is expected to be announced in the coming months regarding this unique storyline as well as other aspects of the new game.
Every Confirmed Character On The Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl 2 Roster (So Far)
Going off of the trailer, it appears many favorites are returning to the sequel to All-Star Brawl such as SpongeBob SquarePants, Garfield, and the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. Highlighted new brawlers to the roster include Squidward in both his handsome and standard forms and Jimmy Neutron. Here is the list of every brawler shown in this announcement trailer:
- SpongeBob SquarePants
- Patrick Star
- Squidward (handsome and standard forms)
- Sandy Cheeks
- Aang
- Kora
- Danny Phantom
- Ren & Stimpy
- Garfield
- Lincoln Loud
- Lucy Loud
- Zim
- Jimmy Neutron
- Nigel Thornberry
- Rocko Rama
- Jenny Wakeman

While there may be more characters in the game, these are the confirmed brawlers shown in the trailer. All playable characters are said to have voice acting this time after the first game in the series saw significant backlash that this was not included until months after launch. Additionally, players will now be able to use special moves called Supers. These extra-strong moves are unique to each character on the roster and can be used to turn the tide of battle if used well – and from the description, they are probably the All-Star Brawl equivalent to the Final Smash move in Super Smash Bros.

Many returning stages appeared in the trailer alongside what appeared to be a couple of new ones that have not yet had their names revealed. All returning stages have been redesigned with freshly upgraded graphics to make them much more crisp and pleasing to the eye. Developers have stated that All-Star Brawl 2 will feature many more level options than the original game, though it is unclear how many will be added in future DLC content as well. Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl 2 Looks Like An Improvement
Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl 2 has the appearance of being what many fans of the network hoped to see in the first title. Though that game was plagued with difficulties, the familiar characters in the Nickelodeon universe are perfectly suited for the chaos of this type of fighting arena game. The humor and music combined with the promise of improved gameplay, graphics, and crossplay functionality could prove to help this series take off and be a popular party game.
Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl 2 has the possibility of being a good contender against the massive fighting arena game Super Smash Bros. with the updates and changes developers are adding to it. The characters used as brawlers in the game are some fan-favorites from the Nickelodeon universe and having a good single-player campaign could help to add more overall value to the title. Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl 2 is likely to be released in the fall of 2023, though no date has been set yet, and developers are hinting that much more information will be given in the coming months.
