Between Yellowstone, 1883, 1923, Landman, Tulsa King, Mayor of Kingstown, and more, Taylor Sheridan is the undisputed king of TV at the moment. Every show he touches seems to become a hit, and that includes the Paramount+ spy thriller Lioness, about a CIA program that sends female operatives to infiltrate terrorist organizations. Paramount+ renewed the show for a third season last year, and the cast is already getting filled out.
Deadline reports that Elizaveta Neretin will join the lineup of Lioness in a major recurring role as an international operative who crosses paths with Joe, the leader of the Lioness program played by Zoe Saldaña. Neretin will be known to fans of Sheridan’s work as Vera Sunter, an exotic dancer and wife of the Russian mobster Milo Sunter (Aidan Gillen). Neretin was written out of Mayor of Kingstown in the first season, but Sheridan is fond of working with the same actors. Neretin will be just one of several performers who show up in more than one of his projects, along with the likes of James Jordan, Gil Birmingham, Dawn Olivieri, and Jeremy Renner.
As is typical for a Taylor Sheridan project, the cast of Lioness is star-studded. We already mentioned Saldaña, who recently clinched the title of highest grossing actor of all time. Nicole Kidman, another huge star, plays CIA Clandestine Service supervisor Kaitlyn Meade, Joe’s boss. And if that weren’t enough, Oscar winner Morgan Freeman is on hand as Secretary of State Edwin Mullins.
‘Lioness’ season 3 will continue Taylor Sheridan’s TV dominance
The second season of Lioness also starred Michael Kelly, Laysla De Oliveira, Genesis Rodriguez, Dave Annable, Jill Wagner, LaMonica Garrett, James Jordan, Austin Hébert, Jonah Wharton, Thad Luckinbill, and Hannah Love Lanier. In addition to Neretin, it was previously revealed that Ian Bohen — a Yellowstone alum, naturally — will also join for season 3, this time as a series regular.
The second season of Lioness was even more action-packed and high-stakes than the first, with Joe getting out of it with her life and family intact, but on this show, the status quo is never guaranteed to last. There’s no official word on what Joe and the rest of the cast will get up to in Lioness season 3, nor do we know when new episodes will start dropping, although it’s expected they could premiere as early as late in 2026.

Taylor Sheridan’s Zoe Saldana-led action series looks like it will be getting a third season sooner than expected.
If you can’t wait that long to get your Taylor Sheridan fix, there’s usually another show of his coming out around the corner. Marshals, a new Yellowstone spin-off that will see Luke Grimes, Gil Birmingham, Mo Brings Plenty, and Brecken Merrill reprise their roles, starts airing in March.
