Eternity, a romantic comedy set in the afterlife starring Miles Teller, Elizabeth Olsen, and Callum Turner, has set a streaming premiere date on Apple TV. Apple TV has confirmed that Eternity will be available to stream starting Feb. 13, 2026. Directed by David Freyne, Eternity follows Joan (Elizabeth Olsen), a woman who is faced with the impossible choice between spending an eternity with the man she spent her life with (Miles Teller) or her first love (Callum Turner), who died young and has waited decades in the afterlife for her to arrive.
Eternity opened in theaters on Nov. 26, 2025. It earned positive reviews, currently sitting at 77% on Rotten Tomatoes. MovieWeb‘s Juan Barquin gave Eternity a 7 out of 10 and said, “Olsen is the beating heart of Eternity, ensuring that David Freyne’s film ends up being as damn entertaining and compelling to watch as it ultimately is.” Eternity grossed $16.2 million domestically and $18.7 million internationally, for a worldwide total of $34.9 million, on a $12 million budget.
Why is ‘Eternity’ Going to Apple TV Instead of HBO Max Like Other A24 Titles?
Despite A24 having an exclusive streaming deal with HBO Max, Eternity will stream on Apple TV. This is because Apple Studios is one of the production companies for Eternity, giving Apple TV the streaming rights. It certainly adds to the streamer’s film portfolio, which includes rom-coms like Fly Me to the Moon and Flora & Son, as well as blockbusters such as Killers of the Flower Moon and the recent Best Picture nominee F1.
Eternity is set to arrive on Apple TV 79 days after its theatrical release. Eternity’s Apple TV release feels perfectly timed to coincide with Valentine’s Day, which is one day after the film’s streaming debut. It is also well-positioned for the three-day President’s Day weekend, giving viewers more time to watch Eternity. It will serve as streaming counterprogramming to Predator: Badlands, which will debut on Disney+ and Hulu one day prior on February 12.
Eternity might not have been the biggest box-office hit of 2025, but it was one of A24’s best movies that year. The hope is that streaming will help Eternity reach a larger audience. Where, at one time, the romantic comedy was a reliable fixture in theaters and at the box office, the genre has struggled and largely been relegated to streaming, where it has thrived with hits like People We Meet on Vacation on Netflix from earlier in 2026. Eternity now has the best of both worlds. It received a theatrical release and can now draw more viewers on streaming, much like many popular romantic comedies of the 1990s and 2000s became huge hits on home video.
