Lightsaber stances are an exciting aspect of Star Wars Jedi: Survivor as they allow the player to engage in combat in any way they please. Additionally, not only can they select their preferred stance, but they can choose a secondary stance to pair with it and swap back and forth between them seamlessly.
The majority of players will have one preferred Jedi: Survivor lightsaber combat stance, which is their primary stance. The best method to determine what pairs best with this stance is to investigate what is lacking in the primary one. For example, if Crossguard provides power, but lacks speed, then a stance with speed is the best to pair it with.
8 Single Blade With Crossguard
This stance will be the most stable and straightforward combination for players that may be newer or looking for simplistic combat. The Single Blade Lightsaber combat stance is the most common form everyone is familiar with. It’s well-rounded and easy to use but not necessarily overwhelmingly positive in any area either.
It won’t provide extreme power or speed, but it can take out weaker enemies with ease. The Jedi: Survivor Crossguard stance can make up for this since as a secondary option it will allow for that extra damage boost with some of the more difficult bosses awaiting Cal towards the end of the playthrough.
7 Double-Bladed With Single Blade
The Double-Bladed combat stance is a great option for every type of player. It isn’t the most powerful, but it has speed and amazing defensive abilities. Blocking Blaster shots with this stance is almost too easy and its quick attack speed makes it easy to take out large numbers of enemies at once.
Pairing it with the Single Blade stance gives Cal a less intense and more reliable option to deal damage when casually exploring and just needing to take out individual enemies. Additionally, the Jedi: Survivor Double-Bladed Skills are not as limited as the Single Blade Skills, giving players more variety.
6 Single Blade With Dual Wield
The Single Blade stance as mentioned, gives the most reliable combat and is good for working through individual enemies, but for those looking to pair this with something that will give them some range, consider the Dual Wield stance as a complimentary option. Jedi: Survivor‘s Blaster stance provides range too, but it’s not for everyone, so Dual Wield gives the ability to throw a lightsaber or two and do some damage.
Additionally, when throwing one, the remaining one acts as a Single Blade which these players would already be familiar and confident with. This is a beginner-friendly combination.
5 Blaster With Crossguard
The Blaster Stance is one that provides the most range for Cal. This can be incredibly helpful when battling stronger enemies that Cal needs to keep a safe distance from for most of the fight, allowing him to deal damage without putting himself in direct danger. Since it isn’t the most powerful stance, finishing off strong bosses with it, like Jedi: Survivor’s Spawn of Oggdo, can be tedious.
So pair it with the Crossguard stance for those times when Cal is able to get in and land a couple of hits, as it deals the highest amounts of damage. When the attack window closes, back off and switch back to the Blaster, and repeat this pattern.
4 Crossguard With Double-Bladed
The Crossguard Stance, though slow, is the most powerful stance in the game. Many players compare it to being similar to that of a Great Sword style of weapon, which are also notorious for being slow, but powerful. Since Cal will be missing out on speed, which can be imperative in high-stakes situations like some of the Jedi: Survivor combat Force Tears which require Cal to take on multiple enemies at once, the Double-Bladed stance can be a perfect match. The Double-Bladed stance is able to take out those large groups quickly when Cal doesn’t have the extra time to spare.
3 Blaster With Double-Bladed
The Blaster stance, again, is all about gaining a boost in ranged combat, making it great for handling singular enemies. However, it isn’t the best option when it comes to dealing with large groups of weaker enemies attempting to overwhelm Cal head-on. In that instance, the Double-Bladed stance will come in handy.
It is quick enough to work through crowds of enemies and has a good swing radius allowing it to clear a room fairly easily while Cal takes minimal damage. This gives Cal a workable combination that can deal with individual enemies as well as multiple.
2 Dual Wield With Blaster
Dual-Wield is a stance that provides a good balance of the traditional lightsaber combat that Jedi: Survivor players know and love, with a little bit of extra damage and defensive abilities. In this stance, Cal has the ability to enter into a state that allows him to automatically parry oncoming attacks and respond with a powerful counter-attack.
Additionally, Cal can use the Dancing Blades Skill to throw both lightsabers and have them bounce between enemies to knock off some additional health. Pair this with the Blaster to add a boost to Cal’s ranged combat abilities and Jedi: Survivor‘s Cal becomes pretty unbeatable.
1 Double-Bladed With Dual Wield
Double-Bladed paired with the Dual-Wield is perhaps the most powerful combination in the game. Not only is Cal equipped with the ability to do damage at an incredible speed, but he also has a great resource for defensive combat since the Double-Bladed stance allows for quick and easy deflection of Blaster shots and the Dual Wield stance can stop mid-attack to block.
Additionally, where the Dual Wield stance lacks in its ability to handle combat with several enemies, the Double-Bladed stance can make up for it. This creates near-perfectly balanced combat for Cal throughout the Star Wars Jedi: Survivor narrative.
