If you play through Bloodborne and think to yourself, “Hey, these enemies aren’t strong enough, I need more of a challenge”, first, are you okay and secondly, why? However, if this sentiment still persists, then you are in luck as one Bloodborne fan has found a way to challenge even the strongest FromSoftware veterans by creating Bloodborne: The New Nightmare.
Available to download for free, this mod will allow players to stalk the streets of Yharnam and take down enemies who will now appear in their droves and hit a whole lot harder.
Bloodborne: The New Nightmare Isn’t For The Faint Of Heart
Since the souls genre was born, players have been looking for a challenge. Whether that is attempting “no-hit runs” or “deathless runs”, the bravest soldiers amongst us are never satisfied with the already punishing difficulty of games such as Bloodborne and are always on the lookout for ways to suffer even more.
Luckily for them, modders such as Librius over on Nexus Mods make that possible by creating free downloads such as The New Nightmare. Available on PC, this mod aims to increase enemy density by adding a lot more hostile NPCs and hunters to the area, both friendly and foe. However, new items which will help with this influx of enemies are also available. This includes a new Hunter hat which can be found outside Iosefka’s Clinic and will increase item drops, as well as health regeneration, faster stamina recovery, and more.
As you fight your way through a beast-infested Yharnam, The New Nightmare will see you meet fellow Hunters that you can also recruit to co-op play via the bow gesture. “Some areas have multi-friendly hunters which you can choose to co-op; however, it will cost one insight to co-operate,” the official mod page reads.
You Can Download This Bloodborne Mod Now
Bloodborne: The New Nightmare is now available to download at no cost for PC players. With brand-new items, increased enemy numbers, and support for co-op play, this mod may make the game a lot more difficult, but it will also allow you to get through it without losing too much of your sanity. By recruiting friends or making use of the new items, you will be able to complete Bloodborne: The New Nightmare in no time.
Not only that, but with no sign of a remaster, PC port, or sequel, it is mods like The New Nightmare that are helping keep Bloodborne alive, but in the meantime, hopefully Sony is working behind the scenes to give the fans what they want.
