The Issue: Democrats block homeland-security funding amid attacks in Michigan, NYC and Virginia.
Democrats don’t want to fund the Department of Homeland Security, our primary defense against domestic terrorism (“DHS ‘block’heads,” March 13).
Are they really willing to compromise the safety of the American people, especially during these dangerous times of conflict, because of their hatred for Trump?
That’s not hard to answer, as they refused to stand at the State of the Union when confronted with putting the interests of American citizens first.

Members of Congress have become a joke. They are forcing a partial government shutdown while terrorism is becoming rampant in our country.
More than ever, we need to fund the Department of Homeland Security. These people need to be paid as opposed to the posturing politicians.
The only thing that they’ve shown us is they hate President Trump more than they love America.

What a surprise: After a terrorist attack at a West Bloomfield synagogue, Sen. Elissa Slotkin wants Homeland Security funding to be restored.
She should be utterly embarrassed for not voicing her opinion at the outset about this lack of funding by the Democratic Party. A significant number of independent and Democratic voters have not been overly concerned about it, either. Certainly, the media has been largely silent on the issue.

It’s time for all of us to recognize that our country is under siege by those who want “death to America” and we need to actively respond.
I wonder if we will hear from the Democratic Party leaders on these obvious assaults on our way of life? Probably not. They’re too busy trying to defund the Department of Homeland Security.

The Post needs to put Sen. Chuck Schumer on part of the front page every day with “America at War and Chuck Schumer has refused to fund DHS for (fill in the number each day) days.”
The Islamic Republic’s best friend in America is Schumer. People will die because he’s playing politics.

Schumer and his childish Democrats must end this DHS shutdown
now.
The United States is at war and Iran is not about to capitulate.
This so-called leader must wake up. His behavior is criminally treasonous.
Begin the process to fund Homeland Security, and do it now, senator.

The Issue: Chief Judge Rowan Wilson saying judges who give lengthy prison terms should be voted out.
No one should be surprised at state Chief Judge Rowan Wilson’s idiotic suggestion that judges who are tough on crime should be voted out of office (“Ire over kid gloves top judge,” March 12).
Wilson wasn’t Gov. Hochul’s first choice; a centrist judge was. But there was no way the lefty legislature would allow anyone but one of their own to be appointed top judge.
It is legislators like him who need to be voted out of office.

What a reassuring message Wilson is sending to jurists: We’ll keep an eye on you if you send society’s menaces away for too long a time.
After all, why shouldn’t criminals, often with long records, be granted another sentencing hearing after doing just 10 years of a lengthier sentence?
Let’s check with the victims if they’re alive, or if not, with their families, to see if these present-day saints should walk early.
